Freedom to Mingle or Retreat
Four private pool villas in an ensemble grazing the Adriatic Sea, this set of 21st-century, minimalist Cycladic getaways affords families and groups of friends the luxury of independent accommodation with the freedom to engage easily, yet privately with the folks next door. Located in a privileged setting in the countryside on the outskirts of storybook Oia, the property is adjacent to a winery and only a 15-minute walk from the beach.
Intimacy For A Crowd
With three of the four villas occupying a singular structure and the fourth a short distance away, the properties’ accessibility to one another makes them ideal for a group traveling together yet hoping for some intimate down time as well.
Vinsanto Villa occupies the top floor and offers a duo of bedrooms for up to 5 or 6 guests, given its domed loft, and two private verandas, one with a private dipping pool with hydromassage seats and views of a traditional village. The front veranda opens out to sea, with views of the mountains and a classic Cycladic chapel trimmed in seafaring blue.
Nykteri Villa: Grounded and gleaming, this double-king villa for four spreads around its plunge pool’s terrace, with outdoor dining extending into the countryside, and a private back terrace offering views of neighboring vineyards punctuated by Mother Mary church.
Athiri Villa takes up an opposite portion of the building’s ground floor, with a romantic plunge pool that’s half-shaded by a Cycladic dome and a deliciously lazy outdoor lounge vibe. Two king bedrooms sleep four and extend off a compact indoor kitchen and dining area.
Mezzo Villa stands alone some 30 feet from its neighbors, a romantically domed, one-bedroom nest for two with a duo of hidden verandas, a shaded alfresco dining nook, and an intimate hotel-room vibe with a counter workspace, sans kitchen. Slide into its plunge pool from a wide sunbed for two.
Around
Set on the legendary Cycladic isle of Santorini, this villa complex is located in Oia, within sight of the traditional village of Finikia and the island’s famed caldera. The Domain Sigala winery is a few steps away, with its tasting room and on-site restaurant. A 15-minute walk leads to Finikia, a traditional enclave that offers a trio of restaurants in addition to a small grocery stand. Walk another 15 minutes and explore Oia, a larger community with cafes, bakeries, restaurants and shops, some offering locally-made goods. Oia is known for its clifftop perch, a tumbledown village of former sea captains’ houses and blue-domed churches. Bougainvillea-draped cafes and taverns spill towards the sea, hemmed in by stone walls and cobbled steeps that grip the rocky hillside. A splash of colorful buildings makes up the traditional village of Finikia just outside of Oia, with the enclave’s Church of St. Matrona the best known structure in the hamlet.
The beach nearest the property is Baxedes, a wild sandy stretch about 15 minutes away on foot. The property is well placed for sporting adventures and tourist excursions, both of the DIY variety and guided, with tailor-made cruises, e-bike tours, snorkeling, kayaking and donkey-riding experiences, plus village touring, beach visits, and guided wine-tasting tours, all available via the property’s concierge service.
