Vast and private, this is a playground of year-round sunshine and chic tropical fun. We like the fresh and modern approach to the interiors and the full service experience.
Modern sophistication with the warmth and natural beauty of tropical paradise is combined with wellness and escapist fun here. Located in a gated community with 24-hour security, Margay Villa is positioned just a short stroll from the beach front and set in a lush coconut grove. All of the properties and facilities have been responsibly and sympathetically constructed from sustainable wood and other local materials and inspired by nature.
Created in celebration of the old ways, the villa and village of Maracajau takes its name from the extinct tribal language of the Tupi Indians who lived close to the sea, and translates to ‘river of the wild (Margay) leopard,' refering to the beautiful and solitary climbing cats that once lived in the area. As part of its evolving story, Margay Villa celebrates this beautiful animal and the habitat in which it comes from.
Commanding and expansive, the villa is large and colorful with over two floors of living space and bright spacious interiors. The open plan layout soars to double height beamed wood ceilings that allows the flow of light and living space to extend vertically and horizontally with walls of glass that open out to the gardens. With just a touch of rustic wood and earth tones, the white interiors are modern and minimal.
Each of the six luxury suites also take their names from local landmarks, stories and traditions in the Tupi language, making a connection between past and present, and incorporating special design touches and finishes that celebrate the history and heritage.
The gourmet kitchen is ideal for entertaining and can serve up to fourteen guests in the large open air dining pavilion or poolside with the option of a private chef to do it all for you. Fully staffed, you can choose to self cater or be pampered with luxury level service. The on site restaurant celebrates locally grown produce and seafood mixed with European fare and is usually inspired by the catch of the day, but will always be happy to accommodate special requests.
The vast, lush grounds are entirely private and surrounded by tropical coconut trees and flowering native plants with a 25-meter private swimming pool and large yoga pavilion for a relaxing and luxurious escape.
