This little flat in the Notting Hill district of west London makes great use of a small space – and is a perfect bolthole for a couple wanting to explore the city. Located in a Victorian terrace on a quiet street, it’s just a few minutes from Ladbroke Grove tube station and the world-famous market stalls of Portobello Road.
The apartment is made up of a small living room that leads into an open-plan kitchenette with a table and two chairs. There’s a separate bedroom with a double bed and closets, and a bathroom. The design is simple and pared down, Scandinavian style, with high ceilings, large windows, white walls and cabinets, offset by blonde wooden floorboards. A great vacation home rental in London for a weekend getaway.
The flat has a small kitchen with microwave, fridge, toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a washer, iron, Smart TV, hairdryer and wifi. Bedding and towels are provided. There is heating but no air conditioning.
Notting Hill is probably most famous for its annual carnival (in August) and for a Hugh Grant rom-com of the same name. But there’s a lot more to the neighborhood than that. Let’s start with the elegant streets, lined with Victorian townhouses – and Portobello Road, home to the world’s largest antique market, second-hand shops and more. It’s a great place to explore and bargain hunt. It’s also a great area for eating (and drinking) out.
If you want to venture farther afield, central London is within easy reach, with Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park within walking distance, and the rest of the city very manageable by tube or bus.
