Designing smart environmental solutions in a harmonious connection with nature, Ukraine-based firm COSMOS creates purpose-built homes with a unique approach to housing production.
Combining modern architectural forms that provide something more than square footage, the company founders are driven by the desire to produce elaborate, functional and emotional spaces, to influence how people live and engage with their surroundings.
Consisting of four modules, the structure is divided lengthwise and crosswise, with its flagship model designed in a distinctive wave silhouette inspired by Japanese engravings. Transparency and intimacy are combined, with glass on either side that opens out to nature, in an elegantly simple design that's stylish, modern and welcoming.
Employing technology and engineering designed for cool latitudes, the house is well adapted for year-round living.
This vacation home rental in Ukraine is a uniquely designed and stylish concept from Ukraine based firm COSMOS that can be constructed in under six months, with the site chosen very carefully in order to "fit" the building into the surrounding land. Located in the lovely Lviv region, it was created as a retreat that gets you back to nature.
With its distinctive sloping roofline and horizontal profile that opens completely on either side, the house erases boundaries, with glass that opens out to the panoramic views on both sides, joining the indoor and outdoor terrace spaces.
The kitchen and lounge are the largest area of the house, forming a central convivial space to enjoy together. The master bedroom is a bright and intimate space to the left of the main living spaces with a private glass entrance that immerses you into nature, while the second bedroom is a cozy perch located on the upper floor featuring a stargazing skylight.
The neutral palette is decorated in white, greys and natural wood with furnishings from Dobro Design Studio and M&K Mebel, Abra Meble, and Blum accessories and a traditional woolen Hutsul lounger from a Carpathian textiles master.
The grounds expand out into the countryside, with lovely unobstructed views and ultimate privacy.

AROUND
Bordering the Yavorivsk National Park, the far western region of Lviv is a lovely area of verdant forests and countryside just an hour east of the Polish border and home to the city that bears its name. Having remained firmly Central European, the UNESCO-designated city has largely escaped the dreary Soviet influence and remains a charming example of authenticity of the Austro-Hungarian and Polish occupancy through the ages.
Lined with cobblestone streets and a mix of historic Baroque, Nouveau and central European architecture in lovely pastels, it's home to a vibrant cafe and rapidly emerging youth culture.
Picturesque Rynok Square is the heart of old town and connects it through ancient passageways to Potocki Palace, the Opera House and numerous cathedrals and museums all the way to High Castle Park, the 14th-century castle ruins high atop the mountain overlooking panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills.
