The southern Blekinge coast in the Schonen region of Sweden is a unique archipelago, carved from receding ancient glacial flows which formed the many lakes and bays in the southern most regions.
Sandviken beach with its powdery white sand and gentle, shallow water is a five minute walk from the house and is perfect for Summer bathing. The beaches of Tredenborg and Hällevik are within a twenty minute drive.
The pretty medieval town of Sölvesborg on the opposite side of the bay is a ten minute drive and is nice for strolling, shopping and scaling the twin hills of Kanehall and Vitehall. There are scenic countryside villages to explore and the capital of Kristiansstad, is a half hour drive. The Ryssberget Nature Reserve is within fifteen minutes with excellent hiking and trekking trails among the forests. Copenhagen is ninety minutes away.
