Settled into the Oscos-Eo Nature Preserve just off of a small rural road, the house integrates the rustic features of the original structure with a crisp modern update that highlights the contrasts.
The living room draws your eyes to the magnificent timbered ceilings and shares the space with the dining area and a step-up modern kitchen with an original early 20th-century wood-burning stove.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms, a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for kids, with a separate one-bedroom apartment-style room.
The house has an interior patio and garden with a terrace for alfresco dining.

Cosy and beautifully-decorated house to relax and enjoy the countryside. 5-min car ride to shops and trails. Curra and Noelia were always accommodating and quick to respond. Definitely highly recommended – we’ll be back. Thanks for the hospitality!

Our stay at Curra’s place was lovely and relaxing. The place itself is very spacious and clean, and the surroundings are beautiful and serene. We particularly loved the outdoor seated area with the lovely view of the wooded mountains. It is a great place to use as a base from which to explore the local area: Taramundi is only twenty minutes away, and beautiful beaches are only a half hour away by car. There is really no need to go further as there are so many beaches around Ribadeo, including the gorgeous Praia das Catedrais. The local supermarkets, though mini, have plenty to offer. They are a bit far to walk to, and the walk from the house is probably not advisable for young children as there are no paths along the windy mountainous roads, and the route that avoids them is steep and narrow in parts. It should also be noted that while there is a microwave and a stove, there is no oven – so don’t go buying pizzas to cook! We made some really nice meals and got quite addicted to frying up padron peppers, which were in season while we were there. All in all we had a great time and looked forward to coming back to this very homely space from wherever we went in the daytime.

A beautiful house in an amazing location. We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The recommendations in the guide at the house were incredibly helpful. We can highly recommend the sidreria in the nearby village Taramundi and the walks from there.

Such a beautifully renovated charming and rustic space, a joy to stay in. Curra provides excellent local tips and the communication was perfect. Easy access to some awesome hiking, beaches and seriously good food and Sidra. Highly recommend a stay here.

This was a beautiful cottage in a lovely part of Spain. The house is spacious and really nicely renovated – we loved the courtyard ‘room’ which was great for sitting in the evenings. The nearby beaches are stunning – particularly Playa das Catedrais which is an unforgettable place. As a host, Curra couldn’t have been more helpful – I arrived with an infected wisdom tooth and Curra arranged for me to be taken to a local medical centre to get antibiotics. She even acted as an interpreter on the phone for me. We would definitely recommend this house.
