This villa for rent in Spain sits just above the shores of the Gibraltar Straits where you can hear the waves breaking on the nearby beach. Tucked away among lush gardens, it’s a welcoming and very private retreat that offers the best of coastal Andalusia. We like the Mediterranean inspired design and the magnificent views of Tangier and the African coastline from the rooftop terrace.
Located in the tiny hamlet of Punta Paloma within the Estrecho Natural Park, this traditional southern Andalusian home is within a short four minute walk to some of Europe’s best white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. With views of the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa in the distance, the house is just a twelve minute drive from Tarifa. A homey and secluded retreat, it’s tucked away among lovely, mature Mediterranean gardens in a privileged location surrounded by pine forests.
Originally used as a family holiday home, the property has been lovingly and tastefully restored and decorated by the owners with an airy, laid back style that’s welcoming and simple with all of the comforts of home. The main house includes a large, open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which makes the most of the incredible views as well as two double bedrooms. The adjacent annex includes an en suite twin bedroom with kitchenette, and both houses feature wood burning stoves for cozy nights. With multiple patios, terraces and verandahs, the property has plenty of outdoor living spaces for lounging on daybeds and dining al fresco, encouraging complete relaxation day and night. The rooftop terrace is also outfitted with comfy loungers to enjoy the magnificent views and is the perfect spot for catching the sun set over the strait.
