What we like about this property

We love the almost regal quality of this villa’s proportions and the natural indoor outdoor flow. The simple lines and striking architectural silhouettes accent the Balinese landscape to perfection.

Description

Designed by Ernesto Bedmar, one of Southeast Asia’s leading architects, this commanding compound sits among the rice terraces along the Indian ocean in a peaceful and private country setting. The multi-unit complex incorporates contemporary style and design techniques with the traditional Balinese characteristics of balance and harmony in relation to environment. Relaxed but elegant, the complex is organized to capture the best of the ocean, volcano and rice paddy views along with the natural trade winds that cycle through and cool the entire property naturally.

Celebrating the Balinese architectural aesthetic and traditions, the craftsmanship, raw natural materials and locally made furnishings and decor  illuminate and accent the contemporary lines and modern aesthetic. The spacious two story master villa features a large split level living area connected by an elegant spiral stair along with a private deck and infinity pool. The four additional private guest villas are each self contained and feature private decks and water gardens with luxury baths and outdoor showers. The two story main pavilion is graceful and grand with 360 degree views and expansive open air living and dining areas that join the large infinity pool and terrace.

The fully equipped kitchen is reserved for the private chef who will prepare both local and international cuisine, although you will have access to the separate island kitchen for easy meal prep on your own. The gardens have been planted with variety of native and specialty plants and trees that fit right in with the lush jungle and water features throughout the property.

Beautifully developed and defined, this property is a luxurious and modern tropical escape that will immerse you in refined comfort and local culture.

Our family just left from Bali. It is hard to put into words the incredible experience we had but I will try to briefly review each aspect of Cemagi Villa:

Location: Quiet and bordering large terraced rice fields but also with easy access to the beach
Architecture: Stunning architecture by a famed architect created a beautiful and uplifting space
Decor: At once stylish and comfortable. The villa is new and all the furnishings and bedding feel very fresh.
Staff: For us the staff was the highlight of the trip. Each and every one of them performed at the highest level but even more than this they put their whole heart into everything they did and made us feel so comfortable and at home. Their helpfulness and kindness deeply touched us. No request was too much. The cook Gadet is outstanding and can accommodate any special diet.

All and all it was the best trip our family has taken and we feel that anyone who has the privilege to stay at Cemagi Villa is very lucky indeed.

    “Amazing luxury villa”

Beautiful luxury villa we visited for our honeymoon in September 2014. Ideal weather conditions, very helpful and attentive staff, safe and secure, walking distance (3 minutes) to the spectaluar Ocean view

    “Two points about the villa”

Firstly the beauty of this modern archtecture playing with some balinese elements without a single time get lost in this widely made culture hopping – from each culture just the worst. It’s just not what I call ethno-kitsch! It’s cool, classic, stright lined, wide open, of clear structur, calming souls down, comfortable, placed in and playing with landscape (Your own ricefields), an widely open and an intimate place in one. I like the industrial citations and much more. You may feel, that I cannot give enough expressions of the beauty of this place. I immediately googled the architect and indeed I was not surprised anymore!
The other point: Your lokal people who cared for us! There could not be a better way of make our life comfortable and easy. All of them are decent people, friendly, attentive, careful. There was not a single exeption. Ayu and the two girls seem to anticipate every wish. Ayu organised us perfectly, was absolutely correct with her invoicing per actual expenses – in fact she mothered us to a worry-free staying at Cemagi. To Your Gede we only can gratulate You to have a knack for Your such a perfect cook. We really like good food very much and that’s quite not the reason for coming to Bali or Indonesia (we prefer Thai-cooking much more, because they kill fishes not always twice or a third time by cooking it). But he’s handels good materials in a perfect manner, multifaceted, home in different cooking styles. Having eaten his fish the first evening we won’t leave the house for a single time anymore for a outside dinner.

    “Took my breath away”

I was totally awed by this complex, all carefully thought and well planned. It looks magnificent yet cosy. We had 12 meals here and every meal was just so delicious, thanks to chef.

“The Perfect Bali villa for rest and relaxation”

So after spending the last one year taking care of two energetic toddlers without taking a holiday, my wife and I decided to head back to Bali again for a 3D2N escapade without the kids in tow. A friend recommended this villa – it’s completely new and located near the coast off Cemagi – Cemagi Villa

From the airport, it was about a 30min drive to the villa. The location itself was fantastic – the drive to the villa hugs the craggy Cemagi coastline – it really felt like entering an exclusive magical retreat with the sound of waves on one side of the road and the sight of padi fields on the right as we are nearing the villa. The path into the villa starts with a hidden side-road cobblestone walk with the villa sited at the top of the path, like an embracing lighthouse to weary sailors.

We received a warm welcome from the villa staff when we arrived, and they prepared a delicious nasi goreng meal for us. The whole place has a clean contemporary Bali feel and a nice open concept so you can wine and dine in view of the infinity pool, and soaking in the surrounding nature, which is a gorgeous landscape of padi rice fields, lighting up beautifully with the sunrise. It’s an amazingly located villa with the padi fields on one side and the coastline on the other!

Our villa rooms were well-furnished and ornately designed with the modern Bali theme, and very comfortable. The villa staff are very friendly and they provided us with bikes as well when we decided to cycle to Tanah Lot (a legendary temple sited amongst crashing waves) which was a few kilometers away from the villa. Even if you do not intend to cycle, be sure to take a hike from the villa to the coast and walk along the coastline – it’s breathtaking and you can end up spending a good hour just enjoying the waves and the wind.

As an aside, Tanah Lot is also a great day trip from the villa – not only is the sight gorgeous, but there are many things to do there – eating, shopping, enjoying the sunset. If you cycle there from the villa, be sure to make transport arrangements with the villa to fetch you back after sunset cos’ cycling back at night is not a great idea with the heavy traffic and lack of streetlights. Plus the transport vendors at Tanah Lot charge you an arm and a leg if they realize you don’t have transport back to the villa.

If you just want to laze around in the villa, you would love the pavilion balcony on the second floor. Nice comfy lounge sofas and breezy – take a book and read, or just reflect upon life amidst the rural landscape. If you wish to plunge into the nightlife of Bali, Seminyak is only a short 20 min drive away from the villa. But if you just want to relax, then this would be a great choice in terms of privacy and location.

In fact, this has been our best short holiday so far – we felt extremely recharged and refreshed and ready to go back to taking care of our toddlers!

Stayed June 2014, travelled as a couple

    “Just the respite I needed”

I haven’t been back in Bali for a few years, thus was most impressed by the arrival experience at the airport. It was so seamless I cleared Customs in about 10 minutes. Hence, within the hour, I was already at Cemagi Villa. The villa’s surroundings facing the ocean, padi fields and the distant volcanoes provided the perfect setting to reconnect with nature. I liked the fact it’s located in a traditional village, so we could take in the colorful religious processions and all. The staff’s service made the stay memorable, while the accommodation and spaciousness of the villa – and especially the infinity pool facing the padi fields – made us wish we could stay there longer than our dates of visit. If you desire a complete retreat far from the madding crowd, this would be the ideal villa accommodation of choice.
