We ask for you to treat the home with the same respect as you would your own. There is a motion detector / video camera on the driveway for the safety of our guests. There are no other cameras on the inside of the home.
Please report any damages to the home or furnishings as soon as they occur. For your safety, we discourage moving any furniture during your stay. The coffee table in front of the fireplace can be moved to open the sleeper sofa when the home has been reserved for 6 guests. Sofa is available for sleeping guests only and not intended for other use during your stay. A charge to your security deposit for $50.00 will be made to sanitize and clean the sofa if signs of opening and used are detected.
Please make yourself at home to use laundry products during your stay. We ask that you only run washer and dryer when you are at the property. Please do not begin laundry and leave the home. Please do not overload the washer or dryer for maximum performance.
To make your stay comfortable, we keep the cooling system in all three rooms at 70 during the summer. The units are zone controlled and can be set to your comfort. In the winter the home is warmed by the sun and please adjust to make your self comfortable, example 72 degrees. Passive solar home designs can require the use of open windows in warmer winter conditions. We ask that you not leave the windows open while you are away. If you arrive back to the home and it is warm, open cross ventilation windows to cool the home for your comfort.
Your safety is our highest concern. We provide first aid box, fire extinguisher in laundry area and under kitchen sink. We offer non-slip slippers for use indoors and bath areas. Concrete floors can be slick when feet are wet after showering.
Should there be an actual fire inside the home the lower bedroom windows can be used for fire escape. Removal of screen and opening outwards with window crank is the means of exiting only during an emergency.
Cleanliness is a priority at the Getaway, please utilize shoe trays at both entrances to remove shoes. Slippers are located inside the closet in both bedrooms. A Butler stand will be provided for the guests who sleep on the sofa. The stand will be furnished with hangers, slippers, etc. and will be in the king bedroom during the stay.
There can be unexpected power outages during any time of the year. Most outages are brief with wi-fi and cable TV returning to normal once power is restored. NO COMPENSATION WILL BE GIVEN for any outage of power, water, wi-fi or television services. You will find a flashlight on the wall in the laundry area. Please return to the plug in after use as to maintain the charge.
We do not allow guests under the age of 25 to rent the property. The guest renting will need to check-in to the property and meet host to review the home. Your rental of The Getaway does not include inviting additional guests or day visitors that have not been listed with the host prior to booking your stay.
In keeping with our allergen free environment we do not allow animals/pets of any kind in the property. If there there is a violation of this rule, you will be asked to leave the property immediately and WILL NOT BE REFUNDED the remainder of your stay as well as forfeit the entire security deposit of $500.00.
We do not allow smoking of any kind indoors or outdoors, to include e-cigarettes. If there is a violation of this rule, you will be asked to leave the property immediately and WILL NOT BE REFUNDED the remainder of your stay.
We hope that you have laughter and make many memories at the Getaway. However, we appreciate mindfulness with loud noises and music after a certain time. From 9:00 pm until 7:00 am, we request this as quiet time outdoors.
If you are interested in hosting a small event or private wedding on the property please contact the host for what you envision.
The Getaway is an exclusive adult only property. We will however consider infants. Please contact the host directly to discuss possible exceptions to our no children policy.
At the Getaway we do our part for the environment. Contact the host if you should need accommodation for additional trash that does not fit into the container. Your host can explain local recycling methods for proper disposal. Our kitchen trash can is small with daily removal in mind.
The home is on a septic system and we ask that only toilet tissue be put into toilets. Please do not place “flushable” wipes or any other paper products into the toilets. From the kitchen, please place any heavy grease or oils into the trash can after they have cooled. Grease or meat products are to be avoided into the garbage disposal.
Please close all windows when leaving the home at any time. Crank out windows should be closed during moderate to high winds due to potential damage to window mechanisms, resulting in non-operational windows. Report any damage to windows to host as soon as possible. Locking all windows and doors prior to your leaving the rental ensures the safety of your belongings as well as preventing rain and water damage to the inside of the home. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS OF ANY PERSONAL BELONGINGS OR VALUABLES during your stay. You will find a safe in the home with instruction on how to open and re-set your own code.
Avoid taking glassware outdoors to the fire pit. We have provided alternative snack set and glasses for mornings and evening time on the patios.
We have extensive sports channels, Spotify music, Google Hub and Nest wi-fi with 2mb speed via fiber optic service. If you have AT&T, you may have limited service on your cell phone. The house is tucked between two mountain ridges and we are in the lowest bottom area which limited cell service. Verizon and other carriers have no issues.
The host does live next door to take care of any immediate needs or concerns.
There are animals that live on the adjoining property, 2 dogs and 2 cats. They can be seen on their daily walks and around the adjoining property.
From October until April, the indoor fireplace can be used. The host will provide Duralogs for indoor use. NO OTHER TYPE OF WOOD IS TO BE USED in the indoor fireplace. We provide two Duralogs with the rental price during fireplace use season. Additional logs and outdoor wood may be purchased from the host at the time of lodging for an additional $10.00 per day. Failure to adhere to this house rule could cause damage to rugs and or furniture and will result in a penalty of your security deposit total. Thank you for understanding.
We hope that you will enjoy our BBQ grill and outdoor burner for cooking fried foods and meats outdoors. BBQ tools are provided under the laundry cabinet, please do not use kitchen utensils outdoors. Cleaning brush and pads are under the BBQ grill. Please remember to turn off the propane tank after use.
During extreme drought we have local burn bans. When a burn ban has been issued we are not allowed to have outdoor burning of any kind. Due to the trees, leaves and the surrounding property we will enforce no use of the fire pit during these times. Local law enforcement can impose a fine upon any persons who are burning.
We are adhering to strict cleaning protocol during the COVID pandemic. During this time we are booking one day off between guests to clean. Please contact the host regarding early check in or the need for late check out. If we can arrange for your request we will do our best.
We have outlined our house rules to ensure that each guest to the Getaway has a safe, secure and most importantly an enjoyable and relaxing time. Compliance to each of the rules is essential for each guest in the group. We hope that you will have everything that you need during your stay.
Should there be a breach of the rental agreement or the house rules we reserve the right to evict any guest or any visitors from the property who refuse to adhere.
