Located in the historic neighborhood of Mount Washington of the San Rafael Hills, this cabin rental in Los Angeles takes style cues from the American Southwest, Scandinavian design and country cottage charm.
Fenced-in privacy leads to an interior full of light, textures and patterns. Exposed wood beams crown the main living area, anchored by an Eames chair and lo-fi touches like a turntable, tome-filled bookcase and Pendleton-style wool blankets. Checked curtains and Buffalo plaid pillows mix with colorful rugs throughout. A sunroom with shiplap walls and a wooden desk is a delightful place to curl up with a book or writing project. The master bedroom invites you to burn some logs in its Swedish stovepipe fireplace and wake up to mountain views.
And you’re in good company: the steep streets are scattered with some architectural gems by the likes of John Lautner and A. Quincy Jones.

The Crane cabin was spotless, quiet, and lovely. Great design. A perfect place to hide away. The owner was thoughtful and speedy to be in touch. The light was beautiful, the neighborhood a delightful place to stroll. I would happily return.
