We’re big fans of northern California – and the remarkable, majestic Sequoias in particular – and this stunning cabin is the ultimate looking glass for this spectacular scenery. We love the sleek but simple modern design and the dramatic relationship with its environment. You won’t know where the house ends and the landscape begins…
Set in a pristine and private forest with a lovely river nearby, this strikingly modern glass house is in unique contrast as well as complete harmony with its environment. Ideally located close to the entrances of Sequoia National Park and the town of Three Rivers, the area remains quiet and completely private.
Constructed entirely of glass and steel with polished concrete floors, the design is a masterful use of materials and architectural simplicity with spare clean lines and an industrial aesthetic. Straightforward and minimal, the walls of glass completely immerse you into the land but with a cozy intimacy.
The open-plan interiors feature great design detail and chic modern furnishings with a central orb fireplace for chilly nights. The fully-equipped kitchen and dining area communicate directly with the central living areas creating a bright expansive sense of space.
The two double bedrooms offer dreamy and dramatic spots for sleeping and enjoying the views and are divided for privacy and share the adjacent bath.
During the summer months there are two neighboring “tent cabins” on the property that are perfect for additional guests and kids for a total occupancy of up to twelve.
A blissfully peaceful refuge with breathtaking scenery in all directions, this is a chic retreat in an unforgettable location.

AROUND
Iconic, majestic and one of nature’s most dazzling wonders, the Sequoias and surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains are some of the best that California has to offer. Centrally located, the house is a ten to fifteen minute drive to the main entrance to Sequoia National Park station and both Slick Rock recreation areas and King’s Canyon National Park, and just a few minutes from Three Rivers town restaurants and shops.
South Fork Drive, where the house is located, dead ends at the lesser-known entrance to the park where there are no fees and where you can still access great hiking trails and camp spots. There are no giant sequoias here but it’s a beautiful 20-minute drive that turns into a dirt road for the last couple of miles. Surrounded by the golden hills of the lower Sierra Nevada mountains, Lake Kaweah is 10 minutes south.
It’s approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Los Angeles and 4.5 hours from San Francisco.

Comfortable, well equipped house in a beautiful setting. Close to Sequoia National park, it was the perfect getaway. Even though the town is small, it had everything we needed. A good pizzeria, Gorilla quesadilla was excellent, and the market had a very good selection of meats for grilling. Sheila was extremely responsive, and took care of any needs we had while we were there. I look forward to returning!

Sequoia Modern was a great stay for a family or friend weekend and if you love to hike but also love a high end place to stay. The home was private, peaceful, and beautiful. It’s just 20 minutes from Sequoia and 5 minutes from the restaurants in town.

Lovely, lovely, lovely glass house! we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect…from the house itself to the river and 2 acres for exploration and the close proximity to the sequoia giants!

Beautiful home and property. Our family had an amazing time hiking around the rocks, sitting by the fire and feeling nature all around us. Highly recommended.

If I leave too good of a review, then I won’t be able to book this again.
If you’re looking for a completely stylish, comfy, off-the-grid weekend, this is a one-stop shop. It feels like a sleepaway camp for urban adults. Can’t wait to come back for a special occasion!
