We love the spectacular Oregon coastline and this house’s strong linear lines and retractable walls of glass captures its stunning natural beauty to great effect. With soaring open interiors, sleek contemporary style and innovative indoor outdoor layout, the house is thoughtfully designed with stylish simplicity and the emphasis of nature in mind.
Designed by Portland based Cornell Anderson, this modern home sits in splendid seclusion along Oregon’s rugged central coast with panoramic views that stretch for miles. Placed above a coastal inlet of protected wetlands with vast expanses of pristine shoreline, the house was designed to complement the landscape. Constructed of clean sculptural lines and an abundance of natural wood, concrete and glass, the house features meticulously crafted details and finishes.
The open plan great room soars to double heights with floor to ceiling windows and a large retractable door that opens out to the deck overlooking the marshlands and the sea providing a continuous flow between the fireside living spaces and the eat-in chefs kitchen and dining area. Dominated by the glass walls that focus outward, the main floor ascends to an open mezzanine office space above the two double bedrooms below. The en-suite master features its own cozy wood stove and a luxurious Japanese soaking tub and both have private ocean views and an abundance of natural light.
The deck is perfect for entertaining and dining al fresco with a fireplace and comfy spots to lounge overlooking the shore with paths from the house leading down to the beach.
This house is the ideal retreat that showcases the juxtaposition of great modern design and the dramatic beauty of the land and sea.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Neskowin sits along the Pacific coastal region of Tillamook county and the Cascade headlands divided by pristine beaches and protected wetlands. During low tide at Neskowin State Beach an ancient Ghost Forest emerges from the Pacific Ocean and the wetlands are home to a multitude of bird and marine life. We had an amazing stay at this architectural gem of a house. The kitchen and accessories were one of the best we ever stayed in – induction cook range with great pans/ cookware. Heath ceramic plates and glassware made us feel like we were eating at home.
Just bring food, cooking oils and you’ll be rocking and rolling for your stay.
The radiant heated concrete floors worked amazing and warmed the spaces, we just walked barefoot the entire time while feeling very cozy in a large modern vaulted room.
The fireplace was a nice way to spend evenings- playing a game or listening to music

We just returned from an amazing stay. Our experience there was flawless. The house itself is beautifully designed and extremely well built. The kitchen is very well appointed. Beds are super comfy. The view is phenomenal. Jay was super communicative and accessible. All around one of the best experiences we’ve ever had with a vacation rental. Can’t wait to do it again!

I can not say enough good things about this house, its owner, its location, the whole experience. This was our second visit to this gorgeous Neskowin house, this time for a month during the 2020/21 pandemic. What a gift to be able to spend time in this beautifully appointed house. It has everything needed to relax and even to work if you need to. My family was able to work and do distance learning all while enjoying daily walks on the nature paths and gorgeous beach. We enjoyed many baths in the deep soaking tub, opened the glass wall to the ocean and the breeze, enjoyed fires and board games and just took in the chance to socially distance in the most relaxing way. This was a trip of a lifetime, honestly, in a place that will always be so special in our hearts. If you can get away and spend time here, you will never regret it. Thank you Jay!

This is my favorite house of all time! Everything was perfect, and Jay is super helpful. We hiked a different trail every day – our favorite was walking south on the beach from the house – about 2 miles – to the ghost forest. Go during low tide – a must see for sure!

GREG WILLIAMS, October 1, 2020
Our party of two couples had a wonderful week here. As architects and designers we appreciate the design that Jay, the current owner (who is quite responsive to emails), achieved with Cornell Anderson. The house is especially nice when you can open up the whole wall of windows to the deck and ocean, but we weathered a pretty severe storm in comfort, as well.
The drive is steep and narrow, but navigable. The scenic walk to the beach takes about 15 minutes. The owner is upgrading the landscaping shortly.
The kitchen is well laid out for cooking and pretty well equipped, with two sinks and even a higher end espresso machine. Heat is in-floor hydronic.
A wonderful house we will be back to!

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an unobstructed view of the Pacific, deer nosing around in the mornings, and quiet. With so many stairs to navigate, not good for anyone with mobility issues, but were there w/ a 4 year and 7 year old and never worried about that aspect of things. Well set up – really a great stay and looking forward to coming back~

Our stay at the Neskowin beach house was wonderful! Jay is a great host. This was our second experience at the house and we look forward to returning. The setting is stunning and we explored some hikes in the area. While it was difficult to leave the views from the house, I recommend a visit at the Headlands hotel in Pacific City for lunch, happy hour and/or dinner.

Fantastic place for a family of four. Stayed for a week, and the house exceeded expectations. Location was great (nice and removed from the world), beds very comfortable, kitchen fully working, and much, much more. Hike to beach was fun everyday through the wildlife preserve, and the beach itself almost seemed like a private beach. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy the Oregon coast.

We spent our honeymoon at the Neskowin House and it was absolutely perfect. The views are breathtaking and the home perfectly captures the secluded setting. There is a lot to do in the area between Neskowin and Pacific City if you can drag yourself away from the views and relaxation the home provides. We will definitely be coming back as soon as we can and are now looking at properties in the area we love it so much.

We utterly enjoyed our 10 days at the Neskowin Beach house. It was such a relaxing change from wining and dining our way around Seattle and Portland the week before!
Our days were simple. Coffee, sit on the deck, beach walk, snacks and cocktails made with Portland Gin, cook a great dinner and enjoy some local wine, relax by the fire, talk, laugh and repeat.
The house was so spacious and comfortable, particularly the bed! And the unobstructed view of the ocean was amazing.
My husband loved to push the patio doors wide open each morning so we could take in what nature had to offer. Who knew staring at the ocean could be so satisfying rain or shine.
Jay was great to deal with before and during our stay and he and his wife took time to meet us in Portland before our trip out to the coast.
The beach house was clearly a labour of love for him and we are lucky to have found it. This was our second stay in a Boutique Home and will not be our last.

We go truffle hunting every year in Oregon. We usually stay in Portland but wanted to do something different this year. My go to site, when I want to escape to something unique and beautiful, is always Boutique Homes, and of course I hit the jackpot. The Neskowin home was perfect place to unwind, soak in nature and cook up lavish truffle meals. The expansive views of the ocean from the top deck and downstairs bedroom were breathtaking. We got lucky and had sunshine throughout our stay which gave way to brilliant sunsets. Deer grazed in front of the house and walks on the beach were magical. No houses flank either side so you have complete privacy. It was truly a memorable escape and we will be back soon!

Had such a great weekend at the Neskowin House. The place is awesome. The view of the ocean from the main living area is incredible. The house is beautiful. One of the best places we have ever stayed.
The sights and sounds of this property are magnificent.
The design allows for panoramic views of the surrounding area.

We were fortunate to see a family of deer outside every morning.

This was the perfect Oregon Coast getaway! The views are beautiful and the kitchen was wonderful to cook in. The house is marvelously designed and gave us the space to unwind. The walk to the beach was so peaceful and the community is spaced out in a way that makes the house feel rural and secluded. There was more than enough wood for the fireplace, next time we will bring some kindling along with us as it took us a while to get the fire started. Jay was great to communicate with and ensured our stay went smoothly.

We just got back from staying at the Neskowin House and would have loved to extend our stay. The hous is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views from every room. What an incredible experience this was. The Neskowin Beach House is even better in person than what’s shown in the pictures on Boutique Homes. Its location is perfectly nestled in the center of a valley looking down at a wildlife preserve followed by the ocean. We literally cancelled all our day-trip sight seeing & driving plans after experiencing the home on the first day (we literally stayed at the home all week). The entire house when opened acts as a visual theater to the ocean and relaxation overall. And the modern minimal design aesthetic is a perfect companion for this kind of experience. We capped off each day of bliss with a fire in the living room’s wood burning fireplace. All-in-all our best experience yet with Boutique Homes.

A perfect modern home with excellent amenities, i.e. baths; kitchen; furnishings. The location? Simply amazing, next to a federally protected wildlife area and directly fronting a spottily visited beach. Nearby, there’s even a wonderful restaurant in Neskowin, The Cafe on Hawk Creek: both salmon and halibut entrees were delicious, finished in the brick oven so they both had a wonderful char. Yum!
Breakfasts and pizza fare also are way above average. Definitely worth a visit!

The Beach house was an amazing experience. A beautiful space to compliment a beautiful stretch of the Oregon Coast.

Modern architecture lovers will be in heaven: beautiful materials perfectly blended into an almost miraculous result. Yes, the views through the glass expanse are sensational, but the experience of a long soak in a Japanese wooden tub in a cavernous bathroom— ah, almost indescribable.
When cabin fever strikes, the beach is a short hike away along a path adjoining a federal wildlife area: it has a lake that, during our visit, provided the location for a pair of bald eagles and their recently fledged offspring.
One mile away, there is a very nice restaurant that we used for all meals, though the kitchen is wonderful and carefully provided with all necessary materials (even an espresso maker!).
Little in life is perfect— this is one such place.

We had an amazing time here ending our summer beginning of Aug from the city. We felt so at home at this “coastal retreat home” with beautiful shoreline views. Despite the weather even with the rain and fog, the place was still perfect! The house was built with a lot of thought and the lay out is just right for the location with modern style. We’ll be back again.

We love this house and try to rent it every year. You feel like you are hovering over the wetlands and ocean in this magic glass house. The Japanese cedar tub in the master is also a wonderful perk. I literally have not seen that type of tub since my last visit to Japan. The walk through the wetlands to get to the beach is also great. Having a younger child, this trek is always a mini adventure! This house is not for a rambunctious kid or a toddler. Lots of stairs, glass and steel. We find it perfect for a small family given the two bedrooms situation. A perfect getaway from the bustle of the city.

This house is not only in an amazing setting but itself an architectural wonder and a pleasure to stay for someone familiar with architecture and construction industry. It’s so rare to find a modern beach house that is well designed and built with such attention to detail. If anything was compromised, it’s not to be recognized by those not involved, even familiar with the construction industry. Not only the house blends in with the surroundings, unlike most beach homes, it also is secluded enough that one only takes in the views of the ocean and the nature, undisturbed by human artifacts. As a result, we spent the majority of the time in the house and on the deck, rather then exploring Neskowin. We would love to find out who the designer was.

Deland, January 15, 2015
We arrived in the middle of a driving night storm after negotiating the winding roads in rain and darkness. In such conditions we had no way to see the property as we fumbled to open the doors and unload in a downpour. However, we were rewarded by stepping into the sort of home that I would love to call my own, clean, modern and in tune with the storm outside. The next morning we awoke to the most amazing views all around us. This home blends in with the dramatic coastline and invites light, air and soothing sounds of the distant surf. The kitchen was a cook’s dream for a summer barbecue on the porch overlooking the ocean, or a cozy chili supper during a cold winter storm. I would recommend this beautiful home for anyone who needs a few days of rest surrounded by the beauty of the Oregon coast.

Jen F, July 14, 2014
Our two year old son said “this is better than our house!” upon arrival, and my husband and I quickly agreed. The property is completely secluded and private, surrounded by a nature preserve and trees. The view of the beach and ocean are the best I’ve ever seen in a private home. And sunlight fills every inch of the interior.
We kept the accordion doors open during the day enjoying the indoor/outdoor feel. At night we slept soundly and peacefully hearing nothing but the ocean, and then were awakened in the morning by birdsong.
Cooking and dining was a joy, and a soak in the tub with the sea air wafting through the window was sublime.
I especially appreciated the tasteful design and décor. So many homes are over decorated, or are filled with art and décor. This house needs nothing to accentuate it’s beauty.
Absolute heaven. We will be back!

This is a wonderful house with a great view of wetlands and the beach. If you are into contemporary architecture, as we are, then you will enjoy inhabiting the wonderful space that the house creates. The main living area is completely open, with a well-equipped kitchen looking out over the dining room and kitchen. The whole living space has a wall of windows that completely opens to a big deck. And the master bathroom, with its cedar tub, is to die for! Beach access is a ten to fifteen minute walk on a path through the wetlands, and when we were there we had the whole beach almost to ourselves.
