Charlevoix Cabin Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Québec, Canada

- Sleeps 14
- from C$ 1945 wk
Set on a sloped and private wooded site, this vacation home rental in Canada is located in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François just a few minutes from Le Massif de Charlevoix.
Designed by Quebec City based Cargo Architecture, the classic A-frame silhouette is undoubtedly modern but was conceived and crafted to complement eastern Quebec’s majestic natural beauty. Constructed of pale natural cedar with black metal accents that lend drama and punctuation, the home was developed with the distinctive Scandinavian design principles of clean lines, a pale neutral palette and an economy of gesture.
The soaring gabled roofline lends the interiors a lofty, industrial feel with cool whites, polished concrete floors and bold black-and-white highlights. The layout is spacious and bright with borderless living areas that include a fireside sitting room, and a generous dining space adjacent to the sleek, modern kitchen.
Simplicity and functionality were key, with a flow that prompts circulation and carefully positioned windows that frame the landscape from all angles.
Deceptively large, the house can accommodate up to fourteen guests with three bedrooms and three baths and a mezzanine area with a private master suite, a child’s playroom and additional sleeping areas.
Placed in a forest clearing, the grounds remain all natural where you can enjoy the picturesque views from the sheltered porch swing or from the hot tub apres ski.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Cable TV, sound system, heating, washer-dryer, iron, hairdryer. Free parking.
AROUND
Le Massif de Charlevoix is a ski area northeast of Québec City and overlooking the St. Lawrence River. It’s great for skiing, snowboarding and sledding, and ski season lasts from early December to late April.
Another reason to visit the region is the Flavor Trail, a drive along the St Lawrence, stopping at up to 40 farms, mills and breweries that open their doors for tastings and tours – best done in summer and fall.
Spring is a good time for whale-watching, as minke, beluga, and humpback whales migrate from the Gulf of St. Lawrence. In summer, the national park, Les Grands-Jardins and Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, are great for hiking, biking, camping and kayaking.
