The restoration of this guest-house has left all the authentic cultural heritage that adds great character to the spaces. There is much to admire and discover through the senses while enjoying the harmonious atmosphere.
The interiors are warm and welcoming, locally crafted sculptures and a vast art collection is set in a frame of charm and grace, creating a natural juxtaposition of time, texture, and technique. There is a natural meeting of comfort and style, of land and sea, and of luxury and ease.
Three floors accommodate several rooms and suites, each with it’s own personality and decorated with exclusive pieces ranging from art deco style of the 1929s through the vintage designs of the 40’s, 50’s and 70’s. On the first floor, the Tramanto suite includes it’s own terrace and private bath, while on the second floor, the Mare suite also features a private bath and terrace with panoramic views. The Collina suite includes it’s own fireplace, private bath and a loggia with panoramic views.
All rooms feature a king-sized bed, white linen sheets, duvet covers and bath towels made by Rivolta Carmignani. Each floor has a cozy living room and a peaceful terrace where you can take advantage of the tranquility.
A heated salt-water swimming pool and jacuzzi are the perfect spots for total relaxation, from the first rays of the spring sunshine all the way through to the last warm, autumn days.
This is a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and heritage of a Tuscan farm life.
Breakfast is from 9am to 11am, but coffee is always ready for early birds. Every item is made in-house, and each day you will taste something different, both sweet and savory. We offer coffee, cappuccino, tea, hot water with ginger, freshly squeezed citrus juices, and both hot and cold milk.
Private Beach Club access with private gazebo and towels.
The Tuscan coastline is renowned for fantastic restaurants, great art, and unspoiled beaches. Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi, and Viareggio are a few of the most popular towns.
In July and August, Torre del Lago celebrates Puccini with an open-air opera festival. Pisa is also a half hour from Locanda, and Florence can be reached in one hour. It should be noted that the medieval pilgrim route of Via Francigena literally passes our doorstep.

September is a very good month. There is a brilliant festival in Pisa of sacred music. June is a good month as well, because it is when the summer starts and it is not very busy. And in July you have all the various festivals. The Puccini festival with the opera on the lake, you have all the rock and pop and jazz festivals in Lucca, and there are a lot of exhibitions happening during the peak months of the summer. So there is always something going on. In February, you have the carnival, which is also a big thing.
