Playa Viva Juluchuca, Mexico

- B&B
- Units 12
- from $ 310 nt
Set along the Pacific coast within over 200 acres of private nature preserve, this luxury boutique hotel in Mexico was developed as an environmentally conscious escape providing total immersion into the remote and wild beauty of the Pacific Coast. Teeming with biodiversity, the property is part of a native eco-system that includes a turtle sanctuary and estuary, an Aztec archeological site, and coastal forests that support an array of wildlife.
Working to set the standard for sustainable eco-friendly luxury, Playa Viva was designed in the style of an open-air resort with a mix of twelve unique casitas, suites and one magnificent bamboo treehouse scattered throughout the property. Each are constructed of rustic all natural materials and subtle contemporary design with stylish, open-air living spaces that put an eco-friendly spin on luxury. Surrounded by the lush tropical landscape with stunning ocean views, you can indulge in the amenities of a boutique hotel while savoring the peace and tranquility of a coveted retreat.
The organic farm-to-table food produced on the land and by local farmers is served daily, and guests are welcome to wander the garden and orchards to pick fresh produce. Encouraging a holistic approach to wellness, there are staff on hand for yoga, mediation and indulgent spa services for blissful and deep rejuvenation.
Offering the highest environmental standards along with luxurious comfort, you’ll experience the unspoiled beauty of the local ecosystem while helping it to thrive, for an inspiring vacation that values the earth and all of its guests.

AROUND
Located along a quiet stretch of the Pacific, the coastal land surrounding Playa Viva is rich in biodiversity and more remote and isolated than it’s flashier neighbors to the north. The easy pace and welcoming spirit along with the unspoiled natural beauty make it a great alternative on the Riviera. Although parts of the town have succumbed to mass tourism, the easy going lifestyle of nearby Zihuatanejo’s historic fishing village still remains in some parts.
You can still wander the winding cobblestone streets downtown to find excellent cafes, galleries and pubs that feature some of the same historic charms of the past and grab the catch of the day from the pescadores every morning. Ixtapa has given way completely to the resort life but the region overall still promotes the natural beauty, vibrant colours, traditional art and laid-back Riviera lifestyle.

Peak Experience at Playa Viva!
I left my heart and soul in Playa Viva…at least that is what it feels like.
WOW!!!!
From the seamless transport to this magical location, the delicious basil margaritas, the food, the beach, the amazing staff, the turtles and the bioluminescence. I think I could write a whole book on things to love about Playa Viva.
We hosted a Filmpreneur Summit in May at this amazing location. The size of the resort was perfect for our small group and we are already making plans for our 2019 Summit!

Incredible place – true to its mission in every way
Playa Viva is a “regenerative hotel” in every sense. Before visiting I thought this would mean I would leave regenerated (which I did!!) but didn’t realise it refers to a style of hotel that doesn’t damage the local environment but goes a step further to repair and contribute positively. I have never seen such attention to detail and commitment to mission / values before… it’s incredibly inspiring.
And it’s just a beautiful place with THE BEST food I have had at any hotel (I really mean it, the best) great massages and a special yoga hut.
We stayed in the treehouse – very cool and I felt so lucky to have the opportunity but didn’t sleep very well – the energy of the ocean is big.
We went into town to do a Zumba class – and it was clear how much Playa Viva is a part of the local community.
The baby turtles could melt anyone’s heart
The tour to the family farm was amazing. A lovely family and utopian home.
A truely unique experience
