Awarded recognition as one of the best restorations of fortified works in Italy by The Italian Institute of Castles, the property is considered a significant document of the history of fortified architecture in Le Marche.

Once encircled by ancient stone walls marking the boundaries of an even larger fortified system, the tower's origins can be traced back to an earlier version of the ancient castle of Magliano that has been lost to time.

Beautifully preserved inside and out, the stone structure, fortifications, and historical details have been sensitively restored, with subtle modern interventions and plush, elegant design that complement the time period.

The first bedroom is located on the ground floor. It has its own bathroom (with shower) as well as direct access to the ground-floor terrace. On that level, there is also a service kitchen with internal well and cellar. Ascending the stairs to the first floor, guests will find a hall with fireplace, a double ensuite bedroom with two closets, and a service room with a washing machine.

There's a studio between the first and second floors, and the next level features another double ensuite bedroom, this time with a Turkish bath and tub, as well as a dining room, a kitchen and a living room. And finally, at the very top of the tower, there is a large living room and a stairway that leads to the panoramic terrace on the rooftop (once the strategic lookout used to defend the town).

An extraordinarily atmospheric and important work of cultural conservation, this property is a one-of-a-kind experience.

LE MARCHE

Bring your walking shoes, because Le Marche is rich in activities, ancient architecture, and landscapes that you’re going to want to see up close. With the Adriatic Sea to the east and the central Apennines to the west, you’re near some of Italy’s best beaches and most picturesque mountain villages.

Take a trek on the Sibillini mountain, with a stop at Mount Vettore. Hop in a car to taxi and cruise around Ascoli Piceno with its marvelous Piazza del Popolo, dubbed “the Living Room of Italy”, with an old theatre that used to serve as the center of the area’s entertainment, long before there were TVs and smart phones. Continue your time warp with a visit to Offida, the town of tombolo lace makers, and visit the lace museum to learn about the intricate craft.

Ancona, the regional capital, takes you to the sea, where you can bathe in the Conero Riviera. You can also opt for an excursion to the seaside resorts.

And you’d be remiss not to sample all of the regional dishes, especially those that contain white and black truffles, or the fish and lamb dishes accompanied with a bottle of Rosso Piceno Superiore or Verdicchio.
