If you're planning a family escape into Upstate New York, this vacation home for rent in the Catskills offers unrivalled seclusion and plenty of things to do. Tucked away at the end of a dead-end road, it sits right on the edge of the Hudson River, with 400ft of river frontage and its own private beach. It's a great spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, tubing, or fishing. You can even moor your own pontoon boat.

The house is perched at the top of an incline, giving guests great views of the river from every room. The grounds have expansive lawns, with a large, heated saltwater pool, a hot tub, plus a cool treehouse, which is perfect for the kids. Meanwhile, the adjacent studio has a game room with a pool table (plus a couple of inflatable mattresses for sleepovers), and an additional guest house is available for rent, if extra space is needed.

The centerpiece of this home is the large, bright and open-plan living area with its high ceilings, central stone fireplace, and ash flooring. Sliding glass doors open out onto an expansive deck with hot tub, firepit and great views of the river. From there, follow the steps down to the lawn and to the waterfront beyond.

Back inside, there's a large kitchen that also has access to an outside deck and the saltwater pool. The pool is heated and has underwater lighting to brighten up evening and late-night swims, as well as an outdoor shower and changing area.

Make your way upstairs from the main living area, and you'll find the master bedroom suite with its vaulted ceiling, Juliet balcony with river views, gas fireplace, and en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi jet shower. On the lower level are two additional double bedrooms, both of which have private decks, and one of which has a full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub.

If you're expecting overnight guests or the kids want their independence, the adjacent studio is a game room by day, with a pool/ping pong table, and an extra sleep area by night, with two queen-sized inflatable mattresses. There is also a gas fireplace, fridge, sink, and bathroom with shower.

The main house and studio combination sleeps 10 guests, but if you need more room, there's a guest house that is available for an additional fee (as of April 2022, this is $300 per night). It contains two bedrooms with queen beds, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a washer dryer set, a stove fireplace, and a private deck.

This vacation home for rent in the Catskills is great for families or groups of up to 14 guests, if all units are rented.

The house may be secluded, but it's also very conveniently located in the heart of the Catskills, only 10 minutes from the towns of Catskill and Saugerties, both of which offer a wide choice of shops, restaurants, art galleries, historical sites and outdoor activities. It's also 30 minutes to the iconic town of Woodstock, which is famous for its thriving arts community, as well as great shops and eateries.
