The turn of the century building's romantic features reveal bright, cheerful interiors that have been styled with a fresh, Scandinavian meets vintage vibe and carefully curated details and personality.

Adopting a “slow living” philosophy, they designed the spaces as a place of unhurried repose, where you can simply stay in, read a book, have a glass of wine or a hot tea, socialize with other guests, or just relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Just off of a romantic, leafy little square, this boutique hotel in Lisbon is a welcoming retreat with just five rooms but lots of style. Situated in the quiet but central Praça das Flores, near Principe Real, a noble area of Lisbon, it's a traditional neighborhood of historic atmosphere and family-friendly spirit.

Designed with the comforts, style and intimacy of a private home (which it once was) and the convenience of a hotel, the first floor apartment has been transformed into a modern guesthouse to be shared. The bright living spaces are awash in natural light and form the heart of the home, with convivial sitting and dining areas and a communal kitchen that serves a traditional Portuguese breakfast daily.

Lightly restored with an elegant retro meets Scandinavian feel, the rooms are in inspired contrast to the historic environs and are smartly curated with vintage furnishings, finishes and details in serene balance. Each of the five rooms sleeps two, with two en-suite rooms and three additional double rooms that share a bath.

AROUND

Centrally located in the heart of Lisbon in the residential neighborhood of Praça das Flores, near Principe Real, you will be in quiet yet trendy, tree-lined little square, with shops restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The neighborhood is also next to the bustling historic city center, where you’ll be within walking distance to Rossio Square, Bairro Alto, Alfama, Chiado and St. George’s Castle.

Firmly suited for the 20th century as well as it’s historic past, Lisbon takes contemporary design seriously and boasts Pritzker prize winning works from Alvaro Siza Vieira (Expo 98) as well as great street art and contemporary installations throughout the city. Gustav Eiffel’s apprentice Raul Mesnier designed and built the neo-Gothic Elevador de Santa Justa where you’ll get the same kind of sweeping city views as it’s cousin in Paris.

The old tram system is great for navigating the ornate cobblestone streets that twist through town and up and down the seven hills. Follow the unmistakable tunes into any Casa de Fado and be treated to the haunting and emotional voice of Portugal.

Not for the weak at heart, Lisbon’s nightlife is epic and goes ALL night. Barrio Alto and the riverfront neighborhood of Cais do Sodre are the hotspots. If you’re still upright, watch the sun rise and wait for the local cafes to open for a traditional bifana (pork bun) or the famous egg tarts (pasteis de nata).
