In A Heritage-Steeped Country House Near Bologna, Time Stands Still
Employing a rugged attitude with a luxurious touch, a married couple who are deeply passionate about travel, interior design and slow living, restored their grandparents’ traditional country house. Nestled in the Appennino Bolognese region, the divine surroundings produce white truffles and a few great wines.
We love the windows that throw squares of light onto the walls, and the stone floors, giant hearth and mix of old and new, like the Bertoia chair tucked into a rustic desk.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and queen-size bed, and you may express your bedroom preference with the owner at booking time.
The kitchen is fully-equipped, and outside you may enjoy the serenity of a private garden, with a spectacular view over the bucolic landscape.
“I enjoyed restoring this hidden place respecting its heritage, recovering as much as possible from ancient furniture to traditional complements. It has been a journey of discovery taking us to a time travel experience, mixing the traditional features with design twists, making the most of my interior design expertise,” says owner Maria Elisa.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Wine tasting recommendations, e-bike rentals and tours where you can explore the Apennines with a guide. A picnic basket can also be arranged (perfect for day hikes), loaded with local delicacies.

The Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy extends from the Apennine mountains to the Po river in the north. Well known for its historic cities, beautiful countryside and local cuisine, its capital Bologna is a vibrant town with a rich medieval history.
Home to the world's oldest university, it's well known as the gastronomic capital of Italy and is often regarded as one of its most beautiful cities with a maze of porticoed and collonaded medieval streets and some of the best restaurants in the country.
The Via Emilia splits the province in two along its east–west axis, dividing the Apennine mountains in the south from the northern plains of the Pianura Padana.
You are about an hour and a half from the Adriatic coast and the town of Ravenna, famed for its brightly colored Byzantine mosaics and a little over an hour southeast of the gastronomic city of Modena.
