We love this charming and authentic fisherman’s cottage, with its breezy open interiors, colorful vintage patinas, handmade details and natural elements that celebrate the simple, laid back Bahian lifestyle.
Located in a secluded residential area adjacent to Trancoso’s UNESCO designated Quadrado, this original fishermen’s cottage is part of a collection within a historic community that has become one of Brazil’s most celebrated destinations. Awash in cheerful colors and a pleasant lived in authenticity, the property expresses both the relaxed and graceful Bahian lifestyle with a stylish modern perspective.
Carefully preserving the original structure’s character, the bunglaow has been subtly transformed with modern amenities while keeping the spirit of the culture alive. Furnished with an artistic and stylish mix of rustic Brazilian and European design, each piece of furniture, art and decor has been chosen with care and an eye for detail. The interiors are rustic and artistic, with decorative and antique elements and local crafts that add a touch of vintage style and elements of whimsy. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with indoor dining area and access to the leafy gardens and private pool to lounge around.

The charming and rustic town of Trancoso sits along the southern region of the Atlantic coast of Bahia along beautiful stretches of unspoiled shoreline. A former laid back hippy destination, the town is attracting a more jet set crowd of late but remains laid back. From the UNESCO designated Quadrado, to the cobble stone streets and candy colored houses, this bluff side village hums along at a dreamy pace. The nearby beaches of Praia do Espelho, Praia dos Nativos, Rio da Barra are to the north and Rio Verde, Itaquema and Ponta de Itapororoca are to the south. Further North is the historic town of Arraial D’Ajuda in the district of Porto Seguro belonging to the region known as Discovery Coast (Costa do Descobrimento), where Portuguese explorers arrived in 1500. A peaceful and unique seaside village, it’s located on a plateau overlooking the breathtaking coastline.
