Split almost directly down the middle by the Warta River, Poznan in western Poland is the country's most colorful city, with it's ancient origins dating back to the 10th century when the country was founded. The first settlements were actually on Cathedral Island between the forks of the Warta River and was the residence of Poland's first king and its religious roots. Today, it's a quiet and quaint settlement of cobblestone streets and squares and one of the greenest places in the city.
