This private and luxurious villa in Puglia began its life as a trulli farmhouse. Today, after meticulous restoration work by architect Floriana Errico, it contains two separate living areas, perfect for two families or a group. And a haven for wellness, it offers a menu of holistic activities, hammam and infinity pool, plus extensive grounds to reconnect with nature.

Borgo Aratico, a private villa in Puglia spread over two living structures, is a meticulous restoration work. Architect Floriana Errico assured that the exteriors be repaired by local artisans as much as possible, including the stone staircase connecting the two self-sustaining units, and the ancient original patio – a wonderful place to practice your yoga poses. Both buildings are nestled among 15 hectares of countryside on Bari's southern coast, with oak woods and Mediterranean flora at your doorstep.

Inside the structures, jolts of bold hues electrify the ancient framework and mélange of materials, from shiplap to stone. In the Chiancarella apartment, a glossy red Smeg refrigerator complements the checkerboard backsplash and contrasts with the chunky stone sink; in the Limonaia apartment, we love the arched mezzanine that overlooks the dining area.

“Emotional living” is the villa’s motto, and wellness drives all of the offerings at Borgo Aratico. With its spacious outdoor areas, gardens flourishing with organic vegetables, and an infinity pool overlooking the clusters of old oaks, Borgo Aratico certainly offers the mind and body a refreshing impact (just add family and friends). The property also has a hammam and offers massages by request.

In a way, it’s like stepping into another century, but with the modern comfort of a five-star resort.

Borgo Aratico is your private villa spread over two separate living structures, connected by a communicating area. Each unit has a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Two doors and a stone staircase leading to the mezzanine separate the two buildings, so with open doors, the Masseria welcomes groups and families up to 10 people.

Bari and Brindisi Airports are both a one-hour drive to the west and east, respectively.

The nearest towns of Alberobello (a UNESCO Heritage Site), Cisternino, Locorotondo and Ostuni all offer plenty to see, regular markets, as well as a selection of typical bars and restaurants. World class sites nearby include the Baroque center of Lecce and the stunning walled coastal towns of Otranto and Gallipoli.
