A Cycladean Island Paradise

At the beginning of the last century, Santorini wines – minerally, marine, sweet – were in high demand by Russia and France. Viticulture is still strong here, and architectural remnants are sprinkled throughout the villages that benefitted. The village of Megalochori is a paragon of this era, replete with cubic, white forms, blue-capped and scaling the cliffs.

Zoom in further, and you’ll discover Mansion Kyani, in the heart of Megalochori. Once belonging to an aristocratic family, Kyani was aptly traditional: with a main house, large courtyard and a canava (wine cellar).

Mansion Kyani has been completely restored to the height of its golden age, rebuilt by local craftsmen who used the volcanic pumice stone that already existed in the house’s ruins. One area of the villa, destroyed in an earthquake, was even transformed into an atmospheric infinity pool and garden area. The renovation included a feng shui consultation, ensuring that each room is in total balance and harmony.

Today, the volcanic rock exterior of Mansion Kyani is in constant glow. Especially come nightfall, when the special LED lighting softens the crisp architectural lines of the mansion and pool, and you are immersed in total serenity.

Description

This hilltop villa in Santorini overlooks the vineyards and quant village of Megalochori, with the sparkling Aegean in the distance. Enter into the expansive courtyard, hand-laid by local craftsmen in the traditional “Plakoto” cobblestone-paved style, and notice that this mansion affords three separate living areas, two on the ground floor and one on the first, connected by an exterior stone staircase.

Upon entrance through the barn door on the ground floor, you’ll reach the kitchenette. Original archways lead through into the domed master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, large tub and separate shower. Returning to the courtyard, another set of original wooden doors lead into the spacious second double bedroom, with a comfortable second bathroom.

The first floor of this luxury villa has original wood floors and many windows that let in the abundant Cycladic air and light. It is also where you’ll find another kitchenette leading onto an expansive large terrace, perfect for outside dining. A third bedroom on this floor boasts two views: one overlooking the vineyards, another the sea. The same views are enjoyed from the dining room, with seating for six, and on this floor is one more spacious bathroom with a large tub.

Combined, this private villa can host up to six guests.

AROUND

The village of Megalochori shows you the quieter side of Santorini, and is known for its car-free cobblestone streets, its Venetian bell towers and charming square filled with fantastic restaurants.

Megalochori’s past was ruled by the merchants and feudal landlords that exported the unique Vinsanto wine, famed in the region. The demand was strong with Odessa in Russia, and the remnants of this time are evident in the many Russian church bells, still tolling in the village today. The tradition with wine continues today – see if you can detect the notes of smoke and minerals from the volcanic soil.

Megalochori has also a dramatic, unspoiled caldera (a basin linked to the myth of Atlantis). There are no buildings here, and it’s perfect for hiking with magnificent vistas of the famous volcano and sunset.

Outside the village, some of Santorini’s best beaches are only minutes’ drive away, and 6 km away is the island’s capital of Fira, with its old port Ormos and celebrated nightlife culture.

Beautiful Villa within a stunning Greek village

Well it seems a life time ago since we were in beautiful idyllic Santorini. Mansion Kyani is truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed, Megalochori is so peaceful and quiet as well as beautiful, it certainly lived up to our expectations. The villa is wonderful and surpassed our expectations also. There honestly isn’t a bad word I can say.

Please pass my thanks for Jackie and the lovely lady that cleaned our rooms every day, they both couldn’t do enough for us.
Looking forward to coming back in 2020

A wonderful time in a villa nested within a village where time seems to stop. A quaint, tranquil, recharging Place.

We had a wonderful wonderful time.
The Villa had all we were hoping it would and for our two families it was … just perfect, BOTH for adults and for children.
Location and logistics were spot on and we managed, during the first day, to figure out all the things we needed. All in all a great experience, in a special Island, which we have been able to enjoy thoroughly.
Thank you Takis and Jackie for taking such a good care of us and guiding us through the best well kept secrets Santorini has to offer!

    Charming Villa in Megalochori

We just completed a three day stay with our family of 4 at this amazing villa in Megalochori. The villa is large and very accommodating. Everyone had their own separate rooms with own room key. The villa is safe. It rests outside of all of the crowded touristy areas of Santorini but still close (15m) drive to Fira and the sandy beaches of the island. Jackie met us at check in and was very sweet and offered welcoming information. The car rental that comes with the property is a plus. They were able to drop it off so that we didn’t have to worry about picking it up and then we just left it in the parking lot and they were going to retrieve it later which was very helpful . She recommended an evening catamaran tour to see the sunset and we took full advantage of her recommendation and had an amazing time. She also arranged our transfer down to the port when we were leaving which offered us peace of mind because we heard it can be difficult that time of day. The villa had daily cleaning service and offered amenities like food delivery that likened hotel room service. We did not need to take advantage of that however because right outside the Villa steps are three lovely restaurants . We spent most of our mornings at a lovely little terraced restaurant named Raki sipping lattes and eating breakfast. This villa is a find! And Megalochori is very charming. We highly recommend this charming villa for your next vacation.

Unique villa nested in a lovely traditional village

The villa is large, well equipped and very traditional. Each of the three large living areas has its own charm and character. There’s loads of outside space with 3 separate areas and a pool.

Another plus is the location. It’s literally 3 minutes walk from a lovely traditional quiet village with a good choice of tavernas and a small mini Market.

Our contact Jackie was friendly and helpful and gave us a detailed but warm reception. She was also very efficient in ordering taxis.

The hire car provided was well specified and eminently suited for the roads.

The transfers were on time and were high quality vehicles.

We all had a great time.

Bells, birds chirping, blue skies and every you can imagine to make the trip fantastic!!

Wake up to the sound of the village bells and birds chirping! Don’t miss out on staying at the amazing villa. Takis and Jackie were excellent communicators and made sure every detail was superbly thought out. The villa provided stunning views and perfect accommodations for our family. We travelled with friends and had them stay at the other villa in town. I honestly can say that this experience was 5 stars and I can’t wait to return. Thank you!!!

Beautiful, expansive villa in a local Greek village

We had a fabulous time at Mansion Kyani! Takis was an extremely responsive host who was able to answer any questions we had. Jackie, the concierge, was super helpful throughout our entire stay. The villa itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious – perfect for our group of 6. The rental car was particularly nice to have to get around the island, and the airport transfer was also a great perk. We can’t wait to return!

Please pass my thanks for Jackie and the lovely lady that cleaned our rooms every day, they both couldn’t do enough for us.
Looking forward to coming back in 2020

Beautiful Villa with small town charm

We just returned from our visit to Santorini. Our villa, Mansion Kiani was located in the small town Megalochori. Our transfer to and from the airport was part of the package. Very convenient and prompt. When we arrived at the scenic small town of Megalochori, we were greeted by, Jackie, who provided us a tour of our Villa. It was very private and safe, needing a key to enter the courtyard. The views were just like the pictures we saw online, beautiful church and the surrounding town. There were four people in our party and each couple had their own room and a key to secure our belongings. In the king suite there was a safe for our valuables. Within the courtyard there was a pool and an area with comfortable seating. A few steps, and I’m not kidding, away was the town center. The center had a mini market for water and food, four or five restaurants and local wares or shops. It was so convenient to just grab breakfast or dinner. The villa also came with a car. My husband obtained an international drivers license. It was great to have a vehicle to travel from town to town, taxis can be expensive. The best part of this location was to experience the culture. Every morning at breakfast, an elderly lady would sit in a chair, provided by the restaurant, watch and gab with the locals, once bringing fresh basil to the location to use in their dishes. We travelled to Fira and Oia, where it was extremely crowded to come back to a beautiful and quiet place to relax. Loved every minute of our stay.

    Paradise in Santorini

We had an amazing time in Santorini and especially at the Mansion Kyani. The space was perfect for the 6 of us and absolutely beautiful! It was great that it was away from the busier areas but always just a short car ride away . Takis and Jackie were great to correspond with , they were always quick to reply and made themselves available if needed. We had an overall great experience!

    Amazing villa! Amazing experience!

We were 3 families traveling together, from toddlers to preteens, and the space couldn’t have been more perfect !!! The staff was super accommodating, accessible and the location was just amazing. Sunsets are spectacular and the charm of the villa and the town of Megalochori are really authentic. I would definitely be returning!!!!

    Beautiful Villa

We stayed at Villa Kyani for 2 beautiful weeks in August 2016. The villa is centrally located and just a few steps to the town center of Megalochori.

The home itself has 3 suite-like apartments each with its own full bath. The garden and outside area of this home is absolutely beautiful and we spent most of our time together in the garden. The pool was a huge hit with all the children. Internet is available. Lovely views of the mountains and the town – the sea can be seen at a far distance.

The villa is in the perfect town for a family with all aged children(I have a 2 year old). The town of Megalochri is close to the best beaches on the island and is a perfect true getaway. We visited the island’s bigger tourist attractions like the town of Oia when we wanted, but preferred to be away from the bus loads of tourists and the frenzy.

Jackie was the caretaker and helped us find the most fantastic baby sitter. She helped us get reservations at wonderful restaurants and planned a beautiful boat trip.

The local people in this town made us feel welcome and cared for. My son was a changed little boy after his 2 weeks on this heavenly island.

    Super villa in Santorini

Amazing house in a great location, pictures are very accurate. The house faces several churches (couldn’t stop taking pictures) and a view of the ocean in the distance. Very quaint but with modern amenities. We visited the family winery which was next door and everyone there was really nice! Great pickup and drop-off service to the airport and the included rental car was a huge bonus! Thanks to Takis and Nico….we will be back!

A villa that captures the essence of Santorini

Centrally located in what is probably the most traditional village in Santorini, the mansion captures the breathtaking beauty of this unique island. Exquisitely decorated and impeccably kept, the mansion offers a stunning view of the traditional village of Megalochori, a very inviting courtyard, swimming pool and overall excellent outdoor as well as indoor facilities. In the village you can find all you could possibly need from shopping to dining and night entertainment. The caldera is within walking distance, while it is only a short drive to the island’s unique beaches and other beauty spots. The manager, Takis, and his staff further enhanced our experience with their friendliness and excellent service. Will definitely go back!!!

A true experience of life on Santorini

We have just recently returned from a week in this lovely villa. We had everything we could want or need for our stay. The village was a fantastic insight into the more traditional ways of Greek life. The people we encountered couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. It was made even more special as we were there during Easter celebrations. We got to experience the rituals and traditions of all that this entailed. This is my second visit to the island and I will definitely be back for more. This gorgeous villa will give you the wonderful experience of the island that you expect. Takis, the villa manager and Jackie, the concierge couldn’t have been more helpful. We received a first class service from the team and I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

    Definitely an experience I’ll relive!!!

This is not the first time my wife and I have visited Santorini but I can honestly say it was one of the best…
Our stay in mansion Kyani was truly an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend to any demanding traveler.
The day we arrived was very hot and our trip a little tiring but we were fully rewarded when we took a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and relaxed with a chilled bottle of wine (courtesy of management) in the cool courtyard. The rest of our stay fully lived up to our expectations.

    We felt like millionaires
    17/08/2015 • REVIEWS
My husband and I invited our children and children in law to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary.

We wanted the trip to be exceptional and unforgettable, and we searched high and low until we found this gem.

We arrived quite late in the evening (around midnight), but still we were met by the concierge of the house, who showed us around the house and recommended trips and things to do and see.

The pictures at the website don’t lie: Everything was exactly like that. Rooms and bathrooms were luxurious and the outside garden/courtyard were the place where we spend most of the time. The small, but clean and cooling pool where great and indispensable in the summer heat. And even if it is a detail I will praise the clean, white, fat towels available.

If there had been some kind of sunscreen/shadow at the terrace at the first floor, we would have used the place a little more.

I must complement the manager of the villa for ALWAYS quick mail response at any questions or need. Exceptional great service in any way.

The village around the villa is very authentic and quiet. We have to recommend the restaurant Feggera just around the corner: Very professional service and very good food – we got the best mussels ever!

In the contrary we can not recommend the wine tasting at the winery just beside the villa. It is expensive and unsatisfactory. The wine is OK, but the review is beneath contempt.

Our week in the island and the villa went much to fast, but we hope we can be back some day.

Authentic postcard paradise gives a taste of the real Santorini

From the moment my wife & 2,5 year old daughter first saw the pictures of Mansion Kyani, the decision was out of my hands: this would be our holiday destination. And what an experience it was! Without any doubt, Mansion Kyani is one of the most beautiful authentic villas that we ever had the pleasure of dicovering. Restaured to offer all modern comfort – the pool at the courtyard probably wasn’t there 100 years ago – the house still feels like an historic treasure in the middle of one of the most charming villages of Santorini. The vulcanic bed in the master bedroom is a romantic extra, but the two other suites – each with there own bathroom & toilet – are picture perfect as well. If you decide to visit Mansion Kyani – and you should – I hope you have the pleasure of meeting the owner, Takis. His warm welcome, original tips and sense of humour will forever be in our memories. Thanks a lot!

A luxurious getaway with friends in a laid back environment

Situated at the centre of Megalochori, the mansion is perfectly located to either reach the caldera views or the beaches in 10 minutes. The combination of this and the peacefulness and authenticity of the village itself is truly unique.
We were staying with 2 couples and a 2-year old and it perfectly matched our needs; 3 separate bedrooms, each with a fully equiped bathroom. Terraces to have breakfast overlooking the flowerbeds, pool, village and rest of the island. Perfection!

    Et le personnel est très gentil et toujours présent en cas de besoin;

Great Family Villa in a heart of Megalochori

Beautiful Villa with the amazing view of the village and partially sea coast. Villa is build in traditional Greek design, has an awesome pool and sun-beds. My entire family including 2 small kids really enjoyed the stay. The service was very good, we had a cleaning lady every morning and the Property Manager Assistant was really helpful when it comes to any questions or favors. Special thank you to General Manager Takis for making this booking fast, easy and flawless. We greatly appreciate your help in the arrangements (incl special rate, car rental)

Beauty, fun and rest in a perfect villa!

I travel quite a bit with my job, and therefore, was not going to settle for just another hotel or renal house for a vacation home in Greece. I had to find a place that satisfied four very different personalities. We chose Kyani after many hours of research for your dream vacation to Greece. My descriptions could not describe the beauty of the villa; the pictures on the website speak for themselves. From pre-arrival planning of activities to local bakery recommendations, Takis and Jackie were always professional and kind in offering information, and patient in dealing with first-time visitors to Greece. The villa was beautiful and in a superb location in the midst of a small village. I felt like we had stepped back in time, or at least to a different planet. Each day we visited a different town and beach. Our favorite turned out to the be the black beach, and the impeccable food and service at the Magic Bus. Owned and operated by Greek brothers Nikos and Christos, Perissa beach is a quick drive from the villa and one that you will want to make more than once.

The only problem we encountered was the quality of the car that we had rented with the villa. However, after emailing and speaking with Takis on the phone, we had an acceptable car the next morning. Takis’s excellent attitude and service turned this experience around.

Having three separate bedrooms, each suites in and of themselves, any group can have privacy and also come together in the many outside rooms, and den area upstairs. The house and grounds were beautifully furnished, very clean, and the two well-equipped kitchens were useful as we kept the fridges stocked with bottled water, wine from the fantastic small winery next door, and fresh feta and baked goods from the two local bakeries. We enjoyed the bakery just up the hill for breakfast and the one about a mile away toward Akrotiri each afternoon.

There are several local restaurants and friendly neighbors and dogs. We loved not being in a hotel in crowded Fira or at the other end of the island in Oia. Megalochori, a perfect little village, Mansion Kyani and Takis gave us the vacation we needed. I hope to visit again one day, and will only stay at Heritage Villas.

    Perfect!

Santorini is a beautiful island. Don’t go there and stay anywhere else or with anyone else. The owners of this villa and manager want you to see the island at its best and have many ideas for your stay. They will give you a lot of help and suggestions to make your stay on Santorini memorable. The village is traditional and a small step back in time; it is still how Greece used to be. If you want a fast and busy atmosphere go elsewhere but here you get a feel for the unhurried pace, you will still see men on donkeys going about their daily routine. The food in the tavernas is the best we have tasted anywhere in Greece, even off the beaten track and there is enough to choose from that you won’t get bored in a week.
The villa itself is set back in a large cobbled courtyard; it is spotlessly maintained and cared for. There are many seating areas both on the lower and upper level and enough shade to get out of the sun. The rooms themselves are set behind three separate doors, all lockable. The main door is also lockable and you feel very safe, within your own gates. Each room has its own seating areas and bathrooms, two have cooking areas and fridges, and the two with the cooking areas have large baths. Be warned, large doesn’t describe the baths ……… more pools size but very hard to fill up. Each room is separate so I wouldn’t recommend it for very young children but perfect for families with teenagers or three couples travelling together. There is so much space outside that you would never feel that you couldn’t escape or find a quiet spot to read a book.
The pool itself is medium sized and set up on steps, shaded in the afternoon, it tends to stay quite cool but is deep enough to swim and play in, a pool is a rarity in Santorini and very welcome when it is hot.
All beds are comfy and the towels plentiful. The rooms are serviced daily by a very nice Greek lady but not English speaking. The villa is peaceful and quiet, no road noise or loud music to be heard but the churches will wake you at 7am every morning, they chime every hour and on the half hour and occasionally the bell ringer really goes for it. The view from the upstairs of the villa is special as are our memories.
The manager of the villa can’t do enough for you and nothing is a problem and the owner of the villa is extremely hands on and attentive. Taking the time and trouble to make sure we were happy with our stay and everything was to our satisfaction. They leave some very nice wine from the island for you to try which is a welcome gift after a long journey.
If we return to Santorini we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

    Magnificent Mansion!

Mansion Kyani was spectacular. We were a group of 5 on holiday in Santorini this summer. The mansion was perfect in that it was separated into 3 private living quarters. The studio apartment upstairs with living room, kitchenette and outside eating patio was perfect – and with a view! The master downstairs was unbelievably gorgeous and the 3rd studio off the courtyard was fantastic as well. We were blown away with the design and details put into this spectacular mansion. The incredible courtyard is split into seating areas for lounging, eating, swimming or just relaxing. Location was right in the heart of a small village with incredible restaurants.
We had the time of our lives! Words can not even begin to describe the beauty of this gem!

Family of Five finds temporary paradise and perfect vacation villa

We had such a great experience that I don’t really know where to start. After being met at the ferry by the car rental agent, he drove us and our luggage to the town where we were met by the concierge, Jackie. Jackie was a tremendous help in orienting us, recommending activities for the family, arranging a fantastic catamaran ride, and pitching in to help us locate lost luggage! We were provided with a cell phone we could use to reach her at any time and more than once we sent her a text looking for a restaurant rec and got a swift reply. Thank you! The villa itself is really special. The pictures barely do it justice. The garden courtyards (with little hidden nooks and sun spots) were beautifully cared for…flowers blooming everywhere. We loved that we could hear the church bells and spy the bellringer himself every now and then. We were five–my husband and I, our two teenage daughters, and elementary age son. The girls took over the top floor which is really a mini apartment (separate sitting room with TV and bar, dressing room, and bathroom)with outside stairs leading to the courtyard. My son took the smaller downstairs bedroom (which isn’t really small and opens onto the courtyards as well) and we had the master with the giant tub and shower. The villa could easily accommodate more though. The small kitchen was entirely sufficient for our needs as we ate most meals out and just had light breakfasts and snacks there. Daily maid service (and the gorgeous welcome bouquet of flowers and bottle of local wine) made us feel really pampered. The pool is beautiful (although it was a bit chilly my son loved it!) and perfect for cooling off. The view from the upper floor was lovely…the village spread out around you and the ocean visible in the distance. I used the space for morning stretching and tai chi. I was worried we would miss something not being ACTUALLY on the ocean but in truth, I’m delighted we weren’t. We really really really liked being in the village, up on the hill and far away from the maddening crowds in other more touristy locations. With the included car rental, we could get anywhere we wanted in a very short time–the beach, Fira, etc–nothing is very far away. If you are looking for discos and nightlife, then you should probably stay closer to the beach. But for quiet family, this was the place. The village itself is picture perfect and with the square just steps below the villa, we felt a part of everything that was going on there. People were so kind. I highly recommend Raki for delicious food and friendly people. Because the village is so small, we felt like we got a more authentic experience, including an entertaining evening where residents (children, elders, dogs–everybody!) gathered in the square to sing love songs and handed out shots of raki! We also happened to be there for the saint day of the village’s patron saint and got to visit the church, enjoyed watching a ritual procession through town, free lunch, and music. This wasn’t a show for tourists at all…and I don’t think we would have gotten that experience elsewhere. There is a delicious bakery and truly FANTASTIC ice cream place at the top of the hill on the main road. And the little local gyro joint was yummy too and very inexpensive.

Kyani would be the perfect place for an intimate destination wedding for example or a special family gathering. The whole experience was perfect and I hope we can return someday. We loved every minute!

We were a group of 6 staying one week in Santorini. Mansion Kyani gave us the best deal with what we needed and after that week, the six of us agreed that staying in a town like Megalochori was the best option to feel a part of Santorini. Fabulous retreat in a charming, peaceful town

We took our parents there for a family holiday, staying for five nights and absolutely loved it. They picked us up from the airport and left us with a car at the villa, easiest check in/ car rental ever! The temptation to relax in the courtyard and pool all day made it hard to see the rest of the island. It was clean and well taken care of with a lovely garden throughout. The area was very peaceful, full of friendly locals and our favourite restaurant was just a two minute walk down the road. It did take a bit of getting used to the church bells but it is all part of the village charm. Would definetly go back, would also be fun with a group of friends.

    Relaxing holiday with excellent service

A group of us recently stayed here for a week and the service provided to us was top-drawer. We were extremely impressed with our concierge Jackie, who was always available, extremely helpful and made our stay very comfortable. I must also commend the daily maid service which was very thorough.

The villa is located in the sleepy village of Megalochori which is away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy places which are all within easy reach. This suited us perfectly, though it did take some getting used to the church bells next door very early on the first morning (a Sunday)!

The villa itself is well appointed. Thanks to some of the earlier reviewers, we had a brand new BBQ provided and made full use of it! I would recommend that a kettle is provided in each of the bedrooms (we had one among the three bedrooms so we had to make sure that the early risers had the kettle) and perhaps a microwave oven in the kitchenette upstairs (or is that being too fussy?).

I agree with all the positive remarks made in the other reviews.

On an unrelated note, we had a very unfortunate experience with a car we rented from http://www.santorinicarhire.com (Emver from Kamari). I would not recommend them as our experience with them has been extremely painful and unprofessional, with very intimidating and threatening behavior being directed at us when they tried to charge us for pre-existing damage on the car.

    Best family vacation ever!

My family (husband of 33 years, 24 year old son and 20 year old daughter) spent 5 nights here after my daughter’s 4 months of studying in Rome and it surpassed everything we had read about it!
The room set up was perfect for our older kids and aside from it being a bit windy the first 2 days the outdoor living was delightful. The robes and slippers, daily cleaning service and consierge support was exceptional. Having a family owned three centuries old winery within 20 steps from our doorway was an incredible surprise! The recomended restaurants were all top notch and even after 4 days in Rome the Greek food was wonderful…go with their suggestions. The only thing I would suggest is a grill for outdoor cooking since the roof top table setting would have been great for dinners at home. We will be back!

Amazing Honeymoon location & fantastic service at Mansion Kyani

My husband and I recently Honeymooned in Santorini and stayed at Mansion Kyani. From start to finish the service and costumer care was fantastic! The manager Takis, was extremely accommodating and made sure our stay was special.
We were also very impressed with Jackie our concierge who was always on hand with brilliant restaurant recommendations and local knowledge. The villa & the grounds were kept immaculately at all times by the staff.
We were thrilled with the location of the villa. Megalochori is absolutely beautiful and we loved eating in the local restaurants and sitting by the pool! We really liked the outdoor seating areas and furniture which we felt was of a high specification. We had hope there might have been a BBQ, and upon this feedback Takis assures us that this will be sorted out!
In terms of the villa, we loved the master bedroom and found our bed very comfortable. We also appreciated the complimentary robes and toiletries.
We felt the hot water supply in general wasn’t really plentiful enough- we do understand that water is scarce and that this is part of island life, but the large baths didn’t seem suitable given the shortage of water. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to fill the Jacuzzi; which was unfortunately broken. However this didn’t detract from an incredible holiday!
In general Santorini is a must see island and I would particularly recommend Megalochori which is in easy reach of all the major attractions (particularly with an excellent taxi service and car rental service) without being too touristy. The standard of food throughout the Island is sensational (especially the sea food). The people on the island are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

My line of work is quite demanding and all year round i spend my time at it so i try and spend my vacation time as relaxing as possible.
When me and my fiance arrived at our villa we both gasped. We could not believe at how lucky we where to have this small secluded paradise to ourselves. The villa itself was very clean and quite secluded away from noice. Megalochori was in the center of the island and so short excursions to santorini where an everyday thing for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful and accommodated our every little need as insignificant that may had been. We are definitelly going back there again soon to spend another great and memorable summer.

    Unforgettable experience!

A trip to Santorini island had been a dream of ours for many years. When we got married two years ago, we both thought that it was the perfect place for our honeymoon… and we were right! After thorough search to Internet sites with wonderful places to stay, we discovered Kyani Villa. Me and my husband loved it! The villa was so romantic that we felt we were living in a fairy tale… really! The sculpted architecture of the inside and outside walls of the house, the unique bedroom inside the canava, the amazing bathtub, the big yard with the volcano stones and the serenity of the village Megalochori… all just an unforgettable experience! And of course thanks to the people of the villa for making our honeymoon so special!

Beautiful villa with an amazing pool!

We really loved this villa and we had a fabulous time in it last summer. I think the highlight of the villa is the lounge area made by volcanic rock, which has a lovely infinity pool with great views of the village and the bell towers of the churches nearby. In fact it was so nice, we rarely went to the beach and we preferred to chill out by the pool! Absolutely recommended!

    Truly authentic…

We decided to stay in the lovely Mansion Kyani during our summer vacations of august 2009, because Santorini can be very crowded that period, so a private villa in the traditional not-touristic village of Megalochori, sounded great…It was great indeed! The house is beautiful, wonderfully restored, in a great location, overlooking the village and vineyards (you can even see the ocean in the distance! We stayed in the enormous canava-style bedroom which had a really big bathroom attached with the biggest Bath Tub I have ever seen! Really atmospheric, perfect for honeymooners..We also loved the cobblestoned courtyard which had very confy outdoor furniture. The only thing we missed was a private pool but as I noticed in the flipkey photos of the property, they added one! More reason for us to go back next summer…

    Great villa for a family

We stayed in Mansion Kyani on July 2009 after a friend recommended it to us. We were searching for a villa suitable for our 4 membered family (two teens) ?and Mansion Kyani proved perfect for our needs! It was in a off-beat spot of the island, a lovely traditional village named Megalochori, away from the havoc of the tourist herds which was conveniently close to the best beaches of the island (namely, Perivolos and Vlyhada). Our bedrooms were very spacious and very clean and we did enjoy the views from the veranda were we usually had our family meals, catered from the restaurant Raki (they delivered it to the villa, although it was very close). If you are looking for ambience, privacy and great location to explore the island, this villa is perfect. Many thanks to our concierge for putting up with all our sometimes overwhelming requests.. Hope to see you next year!

    Wonderful experience!

We decided to stay in Mansion Kyani during our last visit in the island (2nd time). We found its website through
Google. We were a bit concerned if it would be a good idea to stay in a location without caldera view, but now we were so glad that we did! First of all, the villa was in fact an old aristocratic house which was carefully restored. What we loved the most about this villa, was the aesthetics and
the amazing outdoor spaces. Mansion Kyani had two levels; On top (where our friends stay) there was a really big veranda with panoramic views of the village and the aegean sea in distance, where we dined almost every
afternoon- a sight to behold! My wife and me where living in the ground level where there was a really big cobblestone courtyard- perfect for relaxation. Our bedroom was very romantic and spacious within a “canava? (former wine cellar). The architecture of the place was simply unique… The village (Megalochori) was also a big surprise: It was so ideally traditional Greek with a lot of bell towers, cobblestone streets and a lovely square- not
touristic at all :we only spotted 3 lovely restaurants, a mini market, a bakery and a winery which was next door, so we did some serious wine tasting!
Also, one big advantage of staying in Megalochori was that because its location, it was 10 min driving distance from almost anywhere (best
beaches, capital, archeological sites etc). In the price we paid, there was also a small car included so we were quite mobile..Another tip for anyone staying in Megalochori: it has a lovely unspoilt part of the Caldera where you can go hiking and enjoy the view of the volcano and the ocean! That was not obvious and we were really glad that our
Concierge pointed out this option. In general, the staff was very friendly and although we were living in a villa, we felt that we were enjoying the services of a hotel. We had a wonderful 10 days and we will definitely come back!
