Architect Maurice Sauzet’s Japanese inspired design makes nature a big part of this luxury villa in Montpellier’s appeal. We like the Indonesian and rocaille influences and the seamless flow of indoor and outdoor spaces that create a natural, modern habitat.
Nestled at the top of a hill within a pine forest, this luxury villa in Montpellier overlooks beautiful views of the Mediterranean countryside and the famous Pic Saint Loup mountain. The large lot is lush and private with rocaille landscaped gardens that are incorporated into the architectural design.
Entering through a long glass corridor to the central living area, you are immediately immersed into a private and peaceful world with large bay windows that open out completely, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor space among the terraces and gardens. The open kitchen is designed for the most demanding chefs with a separate dining area that opens out onto a private indoor garden.
The en suite master bedroom features large bay windows and a private terrace leading out to the gardens and includes a chromotherapy bath and a luxurious hammam. There are three additional double bedrooms with private terraces leading out to the gardens with a media room and large library and office on the upper floor.
Decorated with a mix of contemporary and Indonesian design, the effect is warm and inviting and in perfect harmony with nature.
Wifi throughout, satellite cable TV and audio system. Gym equipment and hammam. Housekeeping and laundry facilities. Private parking.
The heart of Montpellier is just a ten minute drive. Don’t miss the medieval center or Ecusson, where a network of narrow alleyways, elegant mansions and stately commercial buildings makes for an ideal walking tour of the pedestrian-only Rue de la Loge where you can peruse the antiques and craft shops and stroll the nearby port. As home to the 13th century Université de Montpellier the town has a vibrant and contemporary youth culture and a mix of multicultural influences from North Africa and around the world. The Sète Halle indoor market is the spot for local delicacies and the beaches of La Grande Motte, Gruisan, and the great Espiguette “wild” beach are a short drive away.
