Located outside of a little village on the edge of the Dordogne, this villa for rent in France is directly in the middle of the vineyards of Bergerac and Montravel. Close to St. Emilion and Pomerol, it's home to some of the finest wines in the world.
Nestled into the countryside with sheltered gardens and views of the countryside, the house has been thoughtfully and immaculately renovated in a rustic, contemporary style.
The locally quarried limestone walls, timbered ceilings, and rustic aspects of the original house are nicely balanced with eclectic and tasteful decor and finely tuned interiors that bridge the old and new.
A large and rambling stone structure, the great room forms the heart of the house, with a soaring central living area and the original stone fireplace at its heart that connects with the mezzanine above.
Designed for collaborative cooking and entertaining, the professional-grade kitchen is as beautiful as it is functional with dining inside or al fresco on the terraces.
There are five bedrooms in total in the main house and annex including three closed bedrooms and two mezzanine bedrooms, with two large bathrooms.

AT THE BORDER OF DORDOGNE
Saint Martin de Gurson is a small village on the border of the Dordogne with 500 inhabitants. Located at the intersection of the departments of Gironde, Lot et Garonne and Charente, it’s perfectly located to visit many of the local attractions.
The village itself, though tiny, has plenty of amenities within walking distance – such as tennis and petanque courts, a baker, pub-restaurants and ‘Chez Josiane’ the local convenience store (where you can buy everything from hen food to postcards). The medieval church is worth visiting.
Activities include swimming in Lac de Gurson, as well as kayaking on the L’Isle and the Dordogne, walking and cycling. Bikes are available for 5 euros/day. There is a golf course 30 minutes away at Château des Vigiers and Fun Golf 10km away.
And also only 30 minutes away are St Emilion and Pomerol, exclusive districts of the vast Bordeaux vineyards and home to some of the finest wines in the world. Tours can be organized on request.
