Set along the “Boulevard Napoléon” (currently called boulevard des Etats-Unis) in Vichy, this luxury villa in France is intimately tied to the monarch’s history in the town.
Between the romantic park that he had constructed along the river, and the many civic buildings he commissioned in the city center, this prestigious property remains as one of the very first he had built.
A refined and elegant Belle Epoque style villa, the recent renovations have updated the interiors without detracting from it’s imperial elegance.
The grand entrance hall leads to a ground floor reception hall and a lounge overlooking the gardens. There’s a formal dining room and a fully equipped kitchen and two separate sitting rooms.
Spread over two floors, the villa has five bedrooms on the first floor and six on the upper floors, making it an extra large retreat for families and groups to share.
There is a spa (naturally), a gym, a cinema room, and a billiards room, and in the garden, a heated swimming pool with hydrotherapy current. The unique neo-Gothic pavilion that was added by a turn of the century architect is currently being restored to accommodate more guests.
From the garden you’ll have direct access to the Napoleon park and Lake Alliers for a bucolic promenade in the city of spas.
Breakfast included with optional additional meals and housekeeping on request. Wifi throughout, projection/media room and satellite cable TV with video library, Spotify and music library, kitchen and bath amenities, laundry facilities, private parking with two EV chargers. Optional services include: catering, spa and massage services, touring and wine tastings.
Long famous as a wellness and spa town, the area around Vichy is blessed with the natural healing properties of its many mineral springs. A favorite of Napoleon III (his bust is front and center in Le Parc des Sources), the monarch was responsible for much of it’s growth and development as an elite destination.
Sitting at the bend in the Allier River in the Auvergne region, the town is a compact mix of eras, with Belle-époque, Art Nouveau, Empire, and later, Art Deco contributing to it’s opulent style. Eminently walkable, the cafes, spas and shops are all within a short stroll or bike ride.
Largely rural, the Auvergne region’s capital city and urban hub, Clermont Ferrand, is an hour south.
