We like the historic colonial character paired with the exotic fusion of traditional Sri Lankan art, materials and design.
Perched on a hilltop, this two hundred year old Dutch Colonial manor home is nestled into the jungle on a five acre coconut plantation surrounded in lush privacy. A passion project of Kiwi and Swedish expat owners, the carefully restored villa was transformed with Scandinavian design touches, authentic Sri Lankan style and materials, and subtle modern elements, all with an eye for tradition and history. Luxurious and rustic, there’s a laidback sense of style and elegant simplicity to the home that showcases it’s historical beauty. Furnished with Dutch Colonial period antiques, vintage Sri Lankan decor and original art from throughout South East Asia, the villa has a relaxed homey vibe and unique individual style. The main villa features two lounges one of which opens out onto a patio and dining room that seats ten. The in house chef will prepare delicious local delicacies daily from the fully equipped gourmet kitchen with locally sourced products.
With three colorful en suite bedooms in the main house and an additional private en suite double roomed bungalow at the back of the estate, the property can sleep up to eleven guests and is ideal for families. Vibrant and warm, the palette is cheerful and inviting and blends nicely with the jungle landscape.
Extremely private, the grounds include courtyard seating areas, a patio next to the plunge pool and an outdoor deck next to the large custom infinity pool as well as a beautiful traditional Temple and massive Buddha statute. Serene and comfortable, this is a lovely getaway for the whole family.
Complimentary breakfast, unlimited free wifi throughout the property, private cook, daily Yoga and in house massage available, private cooking lessons, Sri Lankan Tourism Certified Guide on staff, daily house keeping. Tours and airport transfers can be arranged including sunset cruises of Weligama Bay. 24 hour security.
