Prefab is anything but routine here. LA based architect Jennifer Siegal’s innovative holiday home in Venice is a remarkable example of unconventional residential design. We love the modular construction and the eye-catching art and personal details that reveal the artistic mind at play.
Specializing in prefabricated residential and commercial installations, award winning LA based architect Jennifer Siegal has fashioned a striking, holiday home in Venice using innovative and unconventional design solutions.
Starting with a small 1920s bungalow, Siegal stacked three steel modular additions via crane onto the existing structure, creating an airy, vertical habitat. Designed as a prototype, the structure was developed to be eco and energy efficient and can be installed in a day.
The interiors are stylish and modern but with an inviting warmth derived from the polished finishes, bespoke furnishings and personal design detail.
The first floor emphasizes the strong relationship between the living, dining and kitchen areas with a bright open plan layout that connects with the outdoor terrace and gardens.
The lofty second floor includes an en suite master bedroom and an additional double guest room and a sofa bed with room for a total of six guests.
The roof-top terrace is a private oasis with great city views and the ground floor garden includes dining and lounge areas as well as a hot tub.
A dynamic and intelligently designed way of repurposing and reimagining the existing site, this prefab home is a stylish and elegantly conceived installation.

A great central Venice location within several blocks of the shoreline. It is also centrally located near Lincoln Blvd and Rose Ave. as well as nearby Main Street and Abbott Kinney St. where you’ll find the best of the chic and popular spots for great dining, shopping, walking and nightlife. Although Los Angeles is a sprawling metro area, this is one of the best spots to access the city and nearby urban and rural recreational options.
