This former inn in rural New York State dates back to the 1890s and spent much of its life as a farmhouse. Located on a quiet country road, it sits on a 13-acre estate that’s partially wooded, making it perfect for unwinding and playing outside, or equally catching up on work, undisturbed by the bustle of city life.
Put your feet up on the large back porch that looks out across a huge lawn and organic vegetable garden. Better still, pick fresh produce from the garden and rustle up a homecooked meal.
The house itself was recently renovated, with pared-down interiors. It features hardwood floors, custom wall finishes, and light earthy tones. A wood-burning stove in the living room lends itself to good old-fashioned game nights on winter evenings, but lightning fast high-speed internet and RokuTV keeps the historical space connected to the 21st century.
This is a great vacation home rental in New York for up to six guests, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and make the best of this beautiful rural setting. Expect deers to quietly wander by and nibble at the apple trees, and for rabbits, wild turkeys, birds, and some friendly neighborhood pets to say hello. Don’t forget to wander the trail through the woods to the owners’ sustainable beeyard.

Nice place in the country. Great location, close to lots of great sites, farms, and activities. Super friendly host, even brought us some of his local honey as a welcoming gift. Recommended.

This was a great ‘country’ experience. I rented the house to host a 5 person family reunion. Each bedroom was nice, and the 1st floor master had a king sized bed, very comfortable with nice linens. The kitchen has a great gas stove and a dishwasher, and there were plenty of pots/pans/dishes for us to use. One of my favorite features is the huge covered back porch (about 8×25). We are most meals outside, however, there is nice dining table indoor if you. Red it. This was perfect for game night. There are 3 areas inside to lounge and relax, so everyone had plenty of room. SUPER fast internet!! This is the country, so of course there are animals. Some beautiful silent deer came most nights came to eat the last apples from the tree, a friendly cat who stopped by to say hello occasionally, and some nearby roosters. The neighbor dog was super sweet and friendly, we also heard some dogs on the other side that unfortunately were a bit loud at times. And don’t forget to visit the beehives! There are some great farm stands nearby, and a big supermarket is just 15 minutes away. Don’t forget to buy supplies for the big charcoal grill – we used it a lot! You are 30 minutes or less from CT, Great Barrington and Hudson. I was here for a week and definitely stay again when visiting the Hudson Valley region.
