Broadlandia Bungalow

Seattle, Washington
A Charming and Historic Bungalow Among Seattle's Vibrant Capitol Hill

Built in the 1930s this vacation home rental in Seattle is one of those charming vintage homes that preserves the simple yet elegant style of that era and stylistically stands the test of time.
Lovingly restored by the current owners, it is located on a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of the Harvard Belmont District and Broadway.
The two-story clapboard home features the original wood throughout, lending warmth to the interiors which include its original fireplace, vintage double-hung windows, and fixtures.

The spacious living room is light and welcoming with the now gas-enabled fireplace for chillier nights and an adjacent dining room next to the fully equipped galley-style kitchen with a breakfast nook.
A smartly edited selection of mid-century and vintage pieces complement the design of the home, adding chic style that's timeless.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms, each with queen beds and tons of light. The shared, newly restored bath features a deep soaking tub with large windows with completely private views of the gardens and even the Space Needle in winter right from the tub!
The covered back porch functions as a mudroom and extra pantry and leads out to the private back patio and lovely leafy gardens that include an outdoor firepit and applewood to burn on still, clear evenings.

THE EMERALD CITY

Known as the birthplace of boldfaced, game-changing brands like Amazon and of course Starbucks, Seattle is a microcosm of neighborhoods and identity that thrives on individualism and innovation, with a cultural-bending approach to food, brew, art, and heritage among the emerald green forests, islands, and waterways.
The house is ideally located to explore one of the most vibrant parts of the city on foot and is a short walk to Volunteer Park, designed by the Olmstead Brothers, also known as the architects of Central Park. The neighboring Interlaken Park also features miles of wooded trails for walking.
Located within the buzzy Capitol Hill and Harvard Belmont District near Broadway, it's ideally placed within a couple of miles of the fabulous breadbasket of the town, Pike Place Market. The turn of the century market is still the go-to for the freshest and best of land and sea in this foodie mecca and, while always a bit of a tourist destination, it's the quality and locally sourced selection that remains the gold standard. A little closer to home, you could also hit the Capitol Hill Farmer's Market held every Sunday.
The owners recommend some of their favorite eateries and bars close by including Cook Weaver, Rapport Wine Bar, Monsoon, Joe Bar, and Lion's Head Schezuan, but there is no shortage of excellent cuisine in the city.
Set along Elliot Bay, the city's historic waterfront neighborhoods including Pioneer Square are a huge part of its identity, connecting with the greater Puget Sound and the gorgeous (and pricey!) Vashon and Bainbridge islands.
And of course, the Space Needle gives you a breathtaking vantage point of it all.
