What a wonderful home to spend with our family for spring break. What gracious hosts Richard and his wife were and the caretaker Marcos and his wife. We loved having no T. V. and the open air concept for every room. Definitely a beautiful vacation and very relaxing to be right on the ocean.

Canejo y Toro is a 10+. Perfect location for taking in the beach activities (surfing, fishing, whale watching, SUP, hiking) or simply chillin on the gorgeous property. The accommodations are stunning, the feel is very Aman resort and Richard is the consummate host. Very laid back vibe. Highly recommend.

Perfect…
We were looking to escape the hustle of NYC
And we did!
Richard and Nancy have carved out a slice of paradise, worth the few xtra miles to arrive. Walking distance to a few great lunch spots or just have Paloma cook you up anything you desire
Well appointed, quiet, delicious food. Can accommodate a larger group, but we relished in taking the entire place for ourselves

If there was a 6 star quote I will rate it with 6 (or 10)!!!
Our Stay in Cangrejo y Toro was just perfect! More than perfect!
We discovered the house just walking on the beach, and just came in, were Paloma and Marcos showed us the villas and we liked it so much that we decided to get married and celebrate it there!
We contacted Richard and everything was great, we rented the house for 5 days and we did our wedding on of the days. We could never think in nothing better. The sunset, the garden, the beachfront, the swimming pool, the main palapa, the other palapas, everything worked out perfectly. The decoration is amazing and the privacy of each rooms just incredible. I would recommend it for sure if you want to spend a few days in paradise, but a very exclusive and private paradise! Thanks Ricarhs and Nanacy for you hospitality and also thanks to Paloma and Marcos!

Perfect vacation get away on the beach!
It’s hard to say what is my favorite thing about this place. The infinity pool is to die for! The landscaping and grounds are well tended. The chef cooks fantastic food if you choose that. I loved the outdoor shower and breeze that flows through the room at night. I think we loved the privacy the most. We have been twice and already planning another trip back! Highly recommend!

Amazing house and location! Felt at home and would love to come back many times…
Beautiful house built with great taste and details. Perfect place to disconnect from the routine and connect with nature and amazing surroundings of the area. Friendly staff with great cooking skills. Lots of activities to do in the area such as surfing, horseback riding, cycling or just relaxing all day long. Would highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Believe the hype!
We’re pretty jaded travelers so we made sure to lower our expectations from where they would normally be based on the photos and reviews. I mean, the pics looked good; really good. Having said that, this place and the experience we had went way beyond even our more idealistic hopes! I could go into fine details regarding the meals, rooms, beach and even the surrounding (aka- picturesque and rustic town combined with quaint expat businesses) area but it’s not necessary. Assuming you are looking for a little slice of paradise with enough privacy to forget about the rest of the world, this is the place. I was legitimately conflicted regarding this review as being honest and sharing my experience only encourages others to visit and that means that I’ll have to share. So I guess I’m jaded and selfish…

Took the entire family for what turned out to be the best holiday we have ever had. everything was just perfect. Yolanda,Marcos and of course Antonio and Omar the chefs and Lisa the manager were all superb. Did not get out a bathing costume and the food was just amazing.
Richard and Nancy have created a little bit of paradise.

Spending a week at Cangrejo Y Toro in Feb. 2013 was a delight. To celebrate a 70th birthday, we had our family, 10 in all; 2 senior citizens, 4 adults and 4 children ages 6 to 15, for one week in Mexico. It was everything we could hope for.
Yolanda, Paloma and Marcos provided for all our meals and comfort.
The kids rode horses on the beach, surfed every day, fished and kayaked.
A truly heavenly experience.

These owners must have enjoyed watching their masterpiece coming together. Everywhere you look are gardens and every corner of each palapa/bedroom feels luxurious. The private, relaxed setting was perfect for my group of friends and our young families to celebrate a special birthday.

“Book Your Ticket Now”
Every detail of both the palapas we stayed in, and the landscaping that surrounded us, was out of this world: the lap pool surrounded by flowers, the showers surrounded by palm trees, the bedrooms surrounded by the sounds of the ocean. Fresh coconuts were cut for us each morning. Fresh fish was caught on the beach. The couple who cared for us were endlessly helpful, kind, and very talented in the kitchen. My only tip would be to plan to extend your stay!

“A Completely Unique Mexican Paradise”
Cangrejo y Toro is one of the most unique places I have ever had the pleasure of staying. The house is completely open, so everyone you go you hear the pounding ocean and chirping birds, even the kitchen is open and it was such a pleasure cooking in it. Our only difficultly was corralling our 12 month old son, the house is not designed for children but we figured it out and all had a wonderful time. We will be back.

Four of us stayed here in jan 2012, and loved the place. Very serene if not more beautiful than the pictures. Loved the private situation, and the proximity to the water! a little slice of paradise with every detail thought of! we would definately go back again.
