What we like about this property

We love the charmingly mismatched collection of salvaged and vintage style that gives this beautifully restored country house a rustic modern sophistication. It perfectly combines the country charm of the Alentejo, with eco-consciousness and chic one of a kind design.

Description

Tucked away down a dirt road on over thirty two acres of centenarian gardens, this award winning boutique hotel is located in the quiet beauty of the Alentejo countryside. Resurrected from the ruins of an abandoned farm, the style and eco-concept are the creation of Portuguese husband and wife team and media personalities who have developed and created a stylish and intimate retreat that speaks to their passion for the region and culture.

The traditional farmhouse silhouette gives way to completely restored interiors with warm earthy materials, modern polished concrete, lofty and spacious beamed rooms and contemporary style. The seven en-suite bedrooms range in size from doubles to suites and were converted from the former stables. Some feature wood burning fireplaces and most include private terraces overlooking the gardens and Evora in the distance.

With a chic and sophisticated pairing of designer furnishings and decor alongside fabulous vintage finds, the entire hotel is beautifully curated with eye-catching detail and has been retrofitted with best in class environmental design that conserves precious resources and keeps it “green.”

The restaurant serves breakfast daily and light meals throughout the day with Friday and Saturday dinners prepared by your hosts. Not only the house but the land has been restored and carefully preserved with mature gardens and lawns, Roman era tunnels and stone water tanks surrounded by a rare grove of ancient cedars. You can stroll the grounds and enjoy shady areas with hammocks and the two pools for refreshing summer fun. Stylish, eco-friendly and serene, this is a great country escape.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Fully staffed with customized concierge services, daily breakfast and housekeeping services. Wifi throughout. Each room includes TV with DVD player, iPod audio systems, telephones, luxury bathrobes and Hermes amenities, and gourmet minibars brimming with wine, chocolates and cheese. On site parking.

AROUND

Located just outside of the charming village of Guadalupe and two minutes  from the fascinating megalithic complex of Almendres Cromlech, the Alentejo region is rich in history and culture. Just a fifteen minute drive from the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Evora and Elvas, the area is an important frontier district with remnants of both Moorish and late 16th century battlements and fortifications. Be sure to check out the spectacular Amoeira aqueduct and the castle. Badajoz, in neighbouring Spain offers more UNESCO sites, natural treasures, and historic citadels and castles. Lisbon is an hour’s drive to the west.

    Pretty nice !!!
    Friendly place ….
Modernly decorated rooms, modern bathroom, simple but with the necessary.
Breakfast good and with enough variety.
Staff in general very friendly, attentive and efficient.
Only snag! The outside areas, the surroundings, ie the gardens and other common areas need more care!
    Worth it.
Price, above average and what I understood reasonable for the offer.

Hotel where all the details are an absolute delight. Every hour you discover a hidden corner even more charming.
Now the best of everything and the presence of Vera. The soul of our stay there. Kind attentive, accurate and discreet. It is the biggest differential of the hotel

What a view and what a wonderful landscape.
The service is of the best and the decoration of the suites reigns comfort and good taste, with the vintage blend all over.
Dinner on the porch in the middle of the Alentejo summer night is highly advisable.
    Good hotel for families.

    A Magic Space !!!!!
Imani Country House, is without doubt a Magic Space !!!!
From the very high quality in the service as well as the attention of the collaborators, this place is a true Oasis in Alentejo!
It has its own wine in collaboration with a well-known winemaker, named
‘Incognito’ among others …. Not to miss your tasting …
I recommend the cod made by Chef José Pedro Vasconcelos! Divinal !!!!
In the middle of all this quality, it is within walking distance of the ‘Cromeleque dos Almendres’! An ‘energetic’ space!
A great breakfast, a swim in one of the fantastic swimming pools and a stroll to Cromeleque, full of interesting curiosities, make an invigorating end of the afternoon and make IAMANI a divine and magical space!
A very few kms away, they have Évora, which makes the stay in this Country House a point of relaxation.
Try it out! Book it! And enjoy!
Will not forget and will want to return soon more days, because it has a special energy!
    The camera is a must!

    MAGNIFICENT!
The setting in the Alentejo landscape is fantastic. The service could not be better. In the suites there is comfort and good taste, especially the fireplace, which is delicious in winter. In the lounge, even the background music is perfect. Everything is excellent in Imani and it is strongly recommended.
