What we like about this property

We love the simple understated renovation and imaginative way that this farmhouse and barn have been repurposed while maintaining the spirit and structural characteristics. The spare unadorned style is lighthearted and fresh.

A traditional rural farm has undergone a modern reinvention that brings out the best of the orginal structures and preserves the rustic attributes.

Set amongst vineyards and olive groves in the tranquil Tuscan countryside, the 18th century stone house and barn have been lightly transformed in keeping with the bio-architectural standards of the region. The simple adobe interiors have been stripped down to create expansive open plan living spaces with spare wabi-sabi style.

Divided into three separate residences, the two apartments are self contained and come with fully equipped kitchens while the suite is spacious and comes with a separate living area. Each room is complete with full en suite baths and private entrances with panoramic views of the countryside.

The spacious gardens provide a peaceful place to dine alfresco overlooking the vineyards as well as a spa to indulge in.

Simple and stylish, this compound offers a chic getaway in a quiet corner of Tuscany.

Breakfast served daily in main kitchen. Wifi in common areas only. Housekeeping.

Located at the gateway to Chianti, Montevarchi is a small medieval village on the River Arno.  Arezzo is an hour to the east and Florence is and hour northwest.

We had a wonderful stay! we were 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby, stayed in two apartments that were big and comfortable, very clean and well decorated. the bigger one did not have a kitchen, which could have been a problem for us but luckily the other one had a big and perfectly equipped kitchen so we could easily prepare food for all of us. the hosts are wonderful, welcoming and willing to help. The one only thing I’d advise to look at is if the location fits your plans- it is 15 min. drive from the A1 road so it is very convenient for the arrival to and from Rome, Florence, etc.; but it is a bit further from central Tuscany, in sense that it will take you about an hour or more to arrive to San Gimignano and the area.

all in all, we had a wonderful stay, thanks a lot!!

Il Fienile Toscano is delightful, just what we needed in between city stays. The apartment is modern and the bathroom is amazing. The bedroom is upstairs and is beautiful. There is an Irish pub just down the hill if you need a pizza made for you, and the breakfast and company from the hosts is lovely. They really aim to please and help.

Wonderful house in beautiful surroundings. We stayed for 9 nights and we enjoyed every bit. The breakfast was delicious and Paola and Piero where able to give lot of advice about all of Tuscany.
We would really recommend staying here when you go to Tuscany!

Paola and Piero were the best hosts one can ask for. We stayed at one of their apartments for a week while visiting Tuscany for a friends’ wedding and we were traveling with a 7-month old baby. Paola and her husband were the warmest and most accommodating people. They set up a crib in our apartment and on the second day , out of their own initiative, bought baby food for our daughter. They serve light and delicious breakfast every morning, often including Paola’s own home baked goods. Paola would play with our baby every morning so that we could enjoy our breakfasts in peace! On our last day, they invited us to a family lunch with them and drove us to the train station to catch our train to Rome.
Their place is beautiful and artfully designed and the leveled garden has amazing views of the rolling, Tuscan hills. There’s even a jacuzzi in the garden, perfect for late night sessions with a bottle of wine. Our stay with them made our Tuscan vacation really special and it was hard to leave their place after a week of unusually caring hospitality. We would go back in a second!

We stayed in Il Fienile Toscano for 4 nights and can absolutely recommend it. It’s a great place, with helpful and super nice hosts, and amazing location close to Montevarchi and with easy access to Siena, Arrezzo, Montepulciano, Florence etc. They gave us great tipps for our day trips, some walks in the area and made a lovely breakfast for us every morning. If you’re looking for a quiet place and are planning to rent a car to visit differentplaces in toscany, this is the place to go!

I wish we could have stayed for longer. We will try and come back :)

We highly recommend this accommodation if you are visiting central/eastern Tuscany. The location is breathtaking and the rooms are well decorated with a modern twist. It accommodates everything you need. Paola and Pierro were the ideal hosts. They provided us with great breakfast and relaxing atmosphere. Also, they gave us great tips for day trips and visits in the area.
