Il Cannito is a small hotel situated on over thirty-seven acres of the Capaccio (Salerno) hilltop area facing the temples of Paestum, within a landscape renowed for its historical importance and extraordinary archaeological sites. Here the fertile land, mild weather and typical flora and fauna make for a unique, natural environment.

Four extremely refined bedrooms are elegantly furnished with designer pieces and paintings by renowed local artists.

All the rooms are equipped with high-tech amenities such as floor heating, LCD monitor, and Internet and videoconference access. The bathrooms are mini wellness areas where guests can relax in soothing hydro-massage and hydro-sonic bathtubs and dedicate themselves to body care and comfort.

The terrace and the private or communal sun decks offer enchanting views, keeping guests in constant contact with the natural envinronment.

Il Cannito is located just a few kilometres from Paestum and the Cilento seaside. And just a short stroll away, the exclusive private beach with one of the peninsula’s cleanest stretches of water. The complex is composed of two ancient-stone buildings that have been restored to their original splendour in strict compliance with the regulations protecting the natural beauty spots of southern Italy.

The driving force that motivates every work day coincides with the resolve to spread an innovative culture of tourism aimed at enhancing the natural resources instead of exploiting them unconditionally. The organization is based on a fusion of financial, social and cultural values that have turned a dream into reality: to combine a passion for nature with enterpreneurial enterprise.

we just wrapped up a LOVELY 6 day stay at Il Cannito.   This place is off the beaten path and an absolute gem.    Siblings Niccola and Antonella are truly passionate about providing great hospitality and go above and beyond to make everything perfect about your stay.  The food was ample, fresh, locally sourced, painstakingly prepared and delicious.

the setting is stunning and quiet.

the location near Paestum with its Greco-Roman ruins, the CIlento coast and national park is really perfect for people looking to experience a less well known but stunning part of Italy.    great for foodies in general, this region is birthplace of the Fusili noodle, buffalo mozzarella, the aglianico wine grape, amongst other things.
