What we like about this property

An eclectic and charming residence that embodies warm country style and traditional elegance. We loved the classic and rustic design elements amidst the beautiful French countryside.

Description

This former 19th century coaching inn set in lower Normandy in a quiet little village has been lightly yet completely renovated to update creature comforts while retaining it’s classic structural characteristics and historic value.

Sophisticated and rustic, the bones of the former stables are evident in the angular construction and simple, authentic features.

Comprised of a lovely collection of twelve rooms which are dispersed between the main house and the garden cottages, each are bright and spacious and designed to celebrate the building’s former roots and original personality  with exposed rough hewn timbers, limestone and antique style. With slight modern updates combined with raw natural elements, the hotel was intended to be a comfortable representation of the regional style and features handcrafted antiques, decor and linens from local artisans.

Each room is equipped with luxurious en suite baths with full tubs and luxurious bath products.

The on site restaurant is part of the charm of this villa and serves only the freshest, local and seasonal foods sourced from the region, creating simple yet gourmet cuisine.

The walled gardens encircle a pool and flowing terraces with lovely views over the mountains and valleys that is an ideal place to relax, unwind and enjoy the peaceful French countryside.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Wifi, TV, landline, luxury personal care products from Damana, housekeeping and room service.

My 5 year old son and I stayed at the villa over the Easter week-end and it felt like staying in our own countryside home. We felt very welcome by the owners and staff. The place is beautiful, nicely decorated in a both contemporary and antiques style. The garden is a delight and we’ll certainly come back in the summer to enjoy the pool. Dinner at the restaurant was a special treat, the food is delicious and we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere by the fire. Breakfast were nice too. Easter eggs were hidden under our cups wich was a lovely attention. The villa is ideally located in the most gorgeous Perche villages with many walks around. A great experience and hideaway a short drive from busy Paris.

We stayed at Villa Cheval du Perche for a week in July and loved it! We had room 12, very large room, lovely design and a fabulous view. Philippe was just terrific – relaxed but very helpful throughout our stay. We ate at the restaurant 4 nights of our stay and the food and service were terrific – most nights on the terrace due to the sublime weather. Would highly recommend this villa.
