Architect Max Pritchard's Sustainable & Stylish Bush Cabins Tread LightlyRidgetop Retreats, Deep Creek, Australia
Setting the benchmark in design excellence for nature based holiday accommodation, these holiday homes in Australia designed by renowned architect and RAIA President’s Medal winning architect Max Pritchard take full advantage of their beautiful location in the Deep Creek Conservation Park. Seamlessly blending sustainability with a high standard of design and comfort, the site and buildings were created as a template for sustainable tourism.
In contrast to the usual approach to traditional enclosed bush cabins, the three individual units are designed to open out to nature, utilizing large sliding glass doors and high windows with open plan living, dining and kitchen spaces in an energy efficient yet luxurious design. The floor to ceiling windows are the hallmark of Pritchard’s aesthetic, creating a strong sense of connection with nature where you’ll feel like you are out under the stars and among the forest.
Parquet floors, custom beechwood timber furnishings and a cozy stone fireplace all complement the architectural design, each with two bedrooms separated by a bathroom flooded with natural light.
Environmental considerations were integrated to minimize intrusion into the fragile setting with solar and sustainable design solutions.
The lush forest and ever changing weather patterns provide a visual feast while the vsiting kangaroos, birds and bandicoots will charm you during your stay.
Continental breakfast provided. Stereo with CD system, firewood provided, complimentary nature park entry permit.
