We love the playful, colorful and charmingly eccentric way that this hotel is used as an art canvas. Continually evolving, it’s a work of art in progress with eclectic treasures around every corner, and the salvaged spirit and heritage of the former palace it once was. Stay, have fun and discover India.
Located in the peaceful countryside just outside of the bustling city of Jaipur, this hotel was pieced together from a century old family palace by the original owners decendants. Opened in 2009 after three years of development, husband and wife team Ritu and Surya have reclaimed their heritage and ancestral home by reinventing it with a passion for art and an inventive spirit.
Much of the unique features around the Farm were salvaged and reworked from elements of the original palace with ancient teak rafters and doors, old windows and Victorian era accessories giving it a colorful and cultural personality along with a crisp modern style. There are five rooms and two suites, each with a unique theme, atmoshpheric design and color palette. Two are poolside and the rest are set among the shady green gardens and come complete with private plunge pools and jacuzzis.
The atmosphere is relaxed and creativity is encouraged with classes in cooking, painting, and yoga offered on site. The hotel serves mostly homegrown and homemade meals with seasonal produce from the farm including an extensive vegetarian menu, served wherever you choose (poolside, perhaps?).
The swimming pool is the focal point on the property and sits on a raised terrace and a vast green plateau of lawn surrounded by lush gardens. Visually and artistically unique, this hotel is a one of a kind retreat created with passion and imagination.
Concierge services for touring and shopping. Housekeeping. Wifi throughout. Guest lounge with library, communal TV and DVD player with movie library, games and billiards. Optional yoga and massage services. Bicycles and ATV rentals are available for guests to explore the area on their own. Off street parking. Airport transfers available.
Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur is a chaotic and colorful city full of majestic history and monuments to it’s imperial past. Known as “the pink city,” the intricate royal palaces (including the home of the current royal family City Palace), monuments and museums sit quietly among the constant buzz of the bustling bazaars and teaming street life. The largest city in the northwest state, it is the first planned city to be built in the 18th century but the ancient rickshaw can be the best way to navigate it. The intricately carved Jain temples at Sanganer are within a half hour and just an hour’s drive away in the hill country outside of the city is the magnificent Amber Fort and the imposing Jaigarh Fort. Not to be missed. If traveling by train, the outlying areas include the beautiful city of lakes Udaipur, the stunning fort of Jodhpur, and the enchanting desert city of Jaisalmer can be reached within a few hours.
