Nestled above the Pacific coast atop the highest point of the Mazunte Valley, this small luxury hotel in Oaxaca is more about the luxury and splendor of unspoiled nature than extravagance.
Built and hand-crafted with natural and traditional materials, the compound includes just five free standing bungalows along with a soaring central palapa and dining pavilion overlooking the pool and the ocean.
Each of the double rooms are constructed at the tree line with high palm thatch roofs and ocean views. Simple, serene and uncluttered, each space offers a sense of calm seclusion surrounded by tropical gardens and all are equipped with open air ensuite baths constructed of giant bamboo.
Passionate about food and with only small groups to accommodate, the restaurant serves only the freshest ingredients from the in-house organic gardens and locally sourced and harvested foods, including the daily catch from the nearby fishermen.
Served in the open air dining area, you’ll enjoy a delicious and healthy rotating daily menu and lazy evening cocktails poolside.
Las Almas is the perfect place away from it all where you can allow your mind and body to rest and regenerate in a private and stunningly beautiful location.
Breakfast served daily (with optional room service), fully staffed with housekeeping daily, complimentary airport car service. Locally and organically produced bath amenities. On site massage, yoga and spa treatments available.
Located on the Oaxacan coast, the Pueblo Magico of Mazunte lies just west of San Agustinillo and thirty minutes south of Puerto Escondido. Situated along a scenic bay with the picture perfect white sand swimming beach of El Rinconcito, the surrounding jungle and cape Punta Cometa at the west end of the bay are scenic and lush. The town has expanded recently to include a small but mixed variety of cafes and shops and a laid back alt-community of expats and locals. A rural road leads to nearby Playa Mermejita, a small beach village with a smattering of cafes along a beautiful and wild beach. With intense currents and waves, it’s best admired from the shore. The area has transformed from a popular turtle hunting grounds to a preservation and ecotourism destination where the marine life is now protected in sanctuaries along with broad swaths of the surrounding land.
