We stayed in the Orchard room. I swear we walked straight into the pages of Dwell magazine. Very serene with thoughtful touches–a loaf of fresh bread, jams, granola, milk and yogurt. The amazing breakfast pastry. The gallery is a delight with Anna’s and Paul’s work. We went with the idea of coming home with another of Paul’s sculptures and happily did just that.

Thank you Anna & Paul for creating ‘Bloom’. there is something eye-catching at every turn from looking at watering cans & flowers through the “the Pond Room” windows, the Pond with your artistic touches / arrangements, the Studio, to the angled arbutus trees.
You’ve made our first trip to Salt Spring Island a beautiful memory for us.

Follow the dirt road to the Blue Horse sign and enter a peaceful retreat. You were both very welcoming and we truly enjoyed our stay. I was nice to have space both indoor and out to meet with our friends and then be able to go back to our simple, clean, crisp , elegant rooms. And the scones… glad you perfected them while we were here.

Thank you muchly for your comfortable peaceful retreat. Sitting here reading under the beautiful sunlight provided by the skylights. Surrounded by trees that must have inspired Emily Carr – back in the day. Wow the scones freshly baked! Granola, fruit, my tummy is very happy. Also had a good chuckle over the “The Museum of Bad Art” – in the library!

Thank you so much for a lovely vacation. As a photographer, I am rarely as visually stimulated as I was this week – by the land, the light and your property. It was a real gift to have the week to work in solitude and peace.

Bless each of you on your individual artistic journeys.

What a beautiful, relaxing week! Our stay went well beyond my expectations.
It’s been ten years since I’ve slept this long and late in the morning –
A testament to the space you’ve provided here!
I found each time we set out to explore the island I had a strong pull to come “home” to our deliciously peaceful nest.

Oh and unlike some of your guests we didn’t meditate or talk to your fish, but we did sleep a lot…

There are 2 separate suites on this property: pond and orchard. We stayed at pond which is on the second floor, above the owners’ art gallery, Blue Horse Folk Art Gallery.
Bloom is a delightful accommodation with all the comforts of home. There’s a tranquil ambiance here that starts with the warm hospitality of the owners, Paul & Anna. The stylish suite overlooks perennial gardens and is decorated with the owners’ original art. The rooftop garden enhances the view. The yard and the owners’ country home provide a natural and serene backdrop. The suite is cozy and inviting. The vase of fresh tulips was a welcoming treat on a rainy and cold day. It is clear that Paul and anna have put a lot of thought into creating Bloom and they are dedicated to maintaining the property to high standards. We especially appreciated the spotless accommodation and the inviting bed with crisp, white linens.

Thank you so much for creating this beautiful and relaxing retreat on Salt Spring Island… and thank you for sharing it with us! Should we ever be blessed with returning, we will stay here at Bloom again…”Why?”…because – your hospitality was warm and kind, your breakfast treats were scrumptious, your artwork and decorating is inspiring and the peaceful quietness is restoring.
Thank you…and blessings to you and your family!

From a first timer on Salt Spring to someone who has been here more times than she can count, Bloom was amazing for both of us. On our next trip to Salt Spring we will surely be visiting Bloom again. I can’t wait to see it in the summer time.
The pastries and the granola were both absolutely exceptional.
Hope to see you again.
