With its exposed stonework, vaulted, hand painted ceilings, and verdant location, this converted 14th-century masia, or Catalan manor house, is an inviting setting for a variety of events from weddings and family gatherings to yoga retreats and business meetings. The house sleeps up to 30 guests in 11 bedrooms, but it has a total event capacity of 250. ​

It's located on acres of countryside, between dense forest and flowering meadows, is 10 minutes' drive from the Mediterranean, and is within easy reach of resorts like Aigua Blava, Tamariu and Llafranc. However, with its many amenities, guests may not want to wander far from home.

There are 11 bedrooms in total, 10 of which are en-suite. Nine bedrooms are in the main house; the other two are in La Caseta, a small house in front of the villa. There are 17 bathrooms in the two houses, in the events hall, and outside.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and heating. 

There's a pool room, TV room and library, plus a private spa, with indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, Finnish sauna and fitness room. Outside, the garden has immaculate lawns, vibrant flower beds and a large pool, with terraces, a poolside pergola, barbecue and outdoor dining, as well as tennis court, table tennis table, and kids' play area.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

On arrival, all guests receive complimentary treats including spa flip-flops, hand soap, hair and body gel, and body lotion, as well as a welcome basket in the kitchen that includes bread, water, fruit, tea and coffee. Freshly baked bread is delivered Monday to Saturday mornings.

One en-suite bedroom has wheelchair facilities. There are two spa toilets and two events hall toilets. There is a TV with DVD player, and a sound system that can be projected throughout the ground floor.

A maid is provided to keep the general areas in perfect condition, and staff are on hand to assist from the beginning of your event until the end.

In order to celebrate an event at Mas Torroella, guests need to rent the house. Stays in July and August have to be weekly (Friday-Friday). During the rest of the year, stays can be per week (Monday-Monday or Friday-Friday); three-night-weekends (Friday-Monday); or four nights (Monday-Friday). Please inquire for more details and rates.

AROUND

The Costa Brava is famous for its crystal-clear beaches, and there are several within easy reach of the house, including Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu and Aiguablava. Inland, there is also plenty to explore, including the narrow, cobbled streets of the medieval villages of Pals and Peratallada. Catalonia is famous for its great restaurants, with traditional dishes including paella, fish suquets, and barbecue mountains, washed down with a variety of local wines.

Thanks to its location in the Gavarres National Park, there are also plenty of outdoor adventures near the house, with great trails for bikers and hikers. Head to the ocean, and you can indulge in scuba-diving, snorkeling, kayaking, wind surfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, sailing and fishing.

The big cities of Girona and Barcelona are easily reached on day trips, but don't miss the smaller gems of Besalú, with its Roman bridge and central squares, and Figueres, with its Dalí Theatre-Museum.
