This cluster of traditional Puglian farm buildings, converted into a sustainable and eco-friendly retreat, overlooks the lush olive groves of the surrounding countryside. Marchese Houses consist of several architectural components – from traditional Puglian structures to a yurt and a cave. The main lamia residence once functioned as a trappeto (from the Latin trapetum, meaning an oil mill for wine), and two trulli (traditional Puglian stone huts, currently under restoration) lie adjacent.
Meander through the stone walls and paths of the lower gardens, and you'll arrive at a traditional yurt tent to avail of wellness and body treatments. Alternatively, cool off in the sprawling outdoor pool, which offers panoramic views of the valley below, or in the indoor whirlpool jacuzzi set within a cave.
The name of this vacation home for rent in Puglia stems from that of its owners, the Italian Marchese family. Settling here permanently in 2001, their vision was to create a sustainable and ecofriendly village driven by a love for agriculture and crafts. Founded initially as an organic farm back in 1994 spanning an incredible 15 hectares, the property nowadays rests on 4.5 hectares but still retains its original character. A feat of engineering, the property's cistern was dug by hand into the hard limestone rock and provides water for all inhabitants of this expanse of land, including its animals.
The owners Anita and Emanuele are interested in organic farming, culture, and wellbeing and like to share these aspects with their guests. Anita is a certified organic farmer while her son Emanuele is an art-school graduate and studies wellness. Their appreciation for nature can be seen in the green planting around the property. Inside, the airy, whitewashed rooms are complemented by the warm, dark tones of wooden furniture. Selected handcrafted objects made by artisans worldwide and brought home by the hosts are spread throughout the interior. The work of visual artist, and father of Anita, Carlo Riva is proudly displayed on the walls.
With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this vacation home for rent in Puglia can accommodate up to five guests. Both rooms are furnished with double beds, and an additional single bed is provided in the second.

Explore the old town of Ceglie Messapica, renowned for its excellent cuisine, and some of Puglia's loveliest beaches, offering stretches of sandy bays and the highly recommended nature reserves.
Ideally placed for exploring the enchanting Valle d’Itria, the picture-postcard villages of Martina Franca, Alberobello, Cisternino and Locorotondo are some of the best preserved and fascinating in Puglia. The charming little fishing harbor of Savelletri is near, and the amazing Torre Guaceto nature reserve includes both protected marine and wilderness areas perfect for exploring the coastal beauty. Don't miss the charming old town of Polignano a Mare, with its breathtaking cliffside views of the Adriatic.
