A typical rural house composed in locally quarried stone, the home offers direct access to the Cava d'Ispica Natural Park and the unspoiled beauty of island life.
The central body of the house consists of a traditional timbered living space restored with subtle modern interventions that don't detract from the rustic nature of the home. The open-plan space includes a modern kitchen and dining area with doors out to the shaded terrace and outdoor living areas.
There are two double bedrooms with a third bedroom in the adjacent building and room for six guests.
Spread over an acre of wild Mediterranean scrub, the property includes an outdoor area equipped for open-air living and aromatic native gardens surrounding a sparkling swimming pool with views of the protected Ispica valley and the necropolis of Calicantone.
RAGUSA & THE ISPICA VALLEY
Located in the Ragusa Province in the protected Ispica Valley, the ruins of Cava d'Ispica are one of the most important archeological treasures in Sicily. A series of Bronze Age neolithic burial sites, chapels, and the necropolis of Calicantone, later became dwellings during the Middle Ages.
Near to the treasured Baroque collection of UNESCO sister cities in the Val di Noto including Ragusa and Scicli and Modica, it's also just a thirty-minute drive to Marina di Modica, Marina di Ragusa and the Andrea Doria promenade, and some of the best beaches on the island including Sampieri, Pozzallo, and Donnalucata as well as the beautiful Vendicari Nature Reserve. Syracuse and Catania are just up the coast along with the famous Mt. Etna.
