High Above Calvià in the Foothills of the Sierra Tramuntana
With unbeatable mountain and sea views from throughout the house, this villa is breezy and bright but rich in design. We love the chic, Mediterranean mix of handpicked items and furnishings and the very subtle modern updates that integrate so seamlessly into the original structural design.
Nestled above the village of Calvià, Mallorca, among lush vegetation and panoramic views to the sea, this eclectic villa has been designed with great individual style and personal taste and features elegant Spanish, Provence and Moroccan influences.
Set high above the 13th-century village in the foothills of the Sierra Tramuntana, the home was designed and built by famed architect Pedro Otzsoup. Part of the home dates back over a hundred years and has preserved many of the earthy structural features like exposed rock and beamed ceilings for a clean and sophisticated Mediterranean vibe. With intricately patterned Arab & Moroccan hand crafted tiles, contrasting with white washed walls, the home is diverse and ornamental in character and is furnished with large white Italian leather sofas, olivewood tables, vintage glassware, art deco chandeliers and a wide variety of local art.
Breezy and open air, it is filled with windows facing every direction, each with a picture frame view. The living and dining area features cathedral ceilings and offers a cool and bright space to enjoy the village panorama below, as well as from the covered terrace.
The study offers a quiet space, with equally beautiful views, to enjoy the large olive tree mantel fireplace. With clean lines and modern updates, the spacious eat-in stone kitchen (including an 450 year old English Jacobean "bar") features all new appliances and equipment and serves up to eight indoors or many more out by the pool.
All four bedrooms are uniquely designed and furnished with period antiques and original local art along with en suite baths and sleep up to nine guests (each is equipped with Tempurpedic mattresses). The master bedroom has views from East to West, with a large private covered balcony overlooking the village, a large his/her dressing room adjoining a full bath and separate WC.
The separate guesthouse has two bedrooms and a full bath, separate WC, and private balcony with sea views. The fourth bedroom has a bed built into the rock, and adjoins the large indoor stone courtyard.
The large pool terrace, outdoor covered verandas, en suite balconies, all take advantage of the breeze and the spectacular views, offering multiple spots for lounging. This large property affords complete privacy and serenity.

AROUND
Overlooking the town of Calvià, the villa is positioned to take advantage of the great natural beauty as well as the vibrant village life and historic treasures. Surrounded by beautiful emerald bays and beaches, dramatic mountains, cliffs and offshore islands, there are numerous spots on the island to enjoy water sports and fun in the sun.
The area is also dotted with everything ranging from ancient and prehistoric archeological sites, from 13th to 18th century castles and gothic architecture. Conveniently located within 15-30 minutes from downtown Palma and its historic old town dating back to the Moors. There are eight world class golf courses, beautiful ports such as Puerto de Andratx, fashionable Puerto Portals and Puerto Adriano (all renowned yacht marinas with luxury shops and restaurants), and multiple coves and sandy beaches.
With immediate access to great mountain hiking and biking/cycling (Tour de France training area), you can also enjoy sailing, boating and scuba diving nearby. Mallorca offers great restaurants (including in the local village), shops and nightlife along with a variety of events and recreational activities that will keep you busy here.
