Restored by Yucatan native Salvador Reyes Rios, this former 19th-century industrial complex showcases the stunning historic beauty of what was once a textiles factory using traditional techniques and materials and a modern sensibility to achieve results that are both historically authentic and original in vision.
The property is perfectly designed and laid out for large-scale events and can accommodate up to 21 overnight guests and up to 175 on site. The adjacent villa also designed by Rios, is an award-winning property that is a complete departure stylistically from the hacienda and features a dramatic modern sensibility with vast stretches of outdoor space to compose your event and can sleep an additional six guests.
Located in the small village of Sac Chich in the most historic region of the Yucatan, the original ten foot masonry walls enclose the complex comprised of three rectangular limestone buildings, a water tower and an eighty five foot chimney. Built in 1850, the evidence of its previous utilitarian life remains along with its original colonial splendor.
With soaring 26ft ceilings, massive beams and graceful arches and porticos, the industrial past is paired with a subtle contemporary update. From the handcrafted mosaics and romantic water gardens filled with exotic tropical plants and fruit trees, to the historic beauty of the structures, this property is a dramatic and exotic setting that will inspire you to create beautiful custom events.
