Spanish Siesta

Curated by Veronique Lievre

Nothing compares to the ritual of a siesta, and the midday snooze is even better in a country that has long celebrated it: Spain. Herewith, a few BoutiqueHomes with marvelous siesta setups.

CAN LLUÏSSÓ, MALLORCA, SPAIN

Hammocks are as synonymous with relaxation as Mallorca is with being an ideal vacation spot. Upon this Balearic island is a gorgeous finca on 22000 m2 of utterly paradisiacal land, beckoning a nap in the shade of its Ullastre olive trees.

CASA COVA BLANCA, TIVENYS, SPAIN

Replete with graceful arches, this vacation home was built in homage to the many caves in the area. At one with the remote landscape, it offers many ways to cradle your head as you doze off into views of the stunning mountainscape.

SUN DOOR VILLA, IBIZA, SPAIN

Shuteye becomes even more dreamlike at this stylish villa that was formerly an ancient finca. Revived by a mother-daughter design duo, raw and natural materials and finishes feature throughout, while the terraces offer many sunbeds for catching winks.

PUIG CASTELLAR, BARCELONA, SPAIN

Ah, Catalonia. Known for its rich viticulture, Romanesque architecture and deep-green rolling farmland, we can't get enough. Especially at this extra-large retreat nestled into Montseny Nature Park, where we imagine the z's are as epic as the landscape.

CASETA MORISCA, IBIZA, SPAIN

The nap conditions at this charming B&B on the island of Ibiza are always good. Part of that is the Spring-Fall weather, part is the striking 10th-century Moorish architecture, gently and chicly restored.

ECO FINCA SA BECADETA, MALLORCA, SPAIN

This Mediterranean studio-style structure is a dream unto itself. With its open, clean layout, rustic touches and private pool right outside your door, it's the perfect place to lay down, luxuriate and repeat.

CASA 1413, CATALONIA, SPAIN

Studies show that fresh air reduces stress and boosts the immune system; combined with an afternoon nap, you're looking at a serious health recharge. Try both at this holiday home with large bi-folding windows running the length of its striking form.

LA HERMANDAD DE VILLALBA, EXTREMADURA, SPAIN

Stroll onto the walled courtyard patio with a cooling plunge pool of this 18th-century villa and you might notice your nervous system cool too. We could oscillate between that chair and the water all heavenly day.
