Photographers Gemma and Andrew Ingalls are regulars here a BoutiqueHomes. As avid travelers, they have been to our properties in Iceland, Oregon, Washington, and California. Their stay at the Neskowin Beach House in Oregon and the Laconner Cabin in Washington not only look flawless but also feel like a dream getaway. What’s better than knowing there are places like these holiday homes available at our fingertips?
Neskowin sits along the Pacific coastal region of Tillamook county and the Cascade headlands divided by pristine beaches and protected wetlands. Home to an extensive network of Nature Conservancy and state park lands, the area is dotted with hiking trails and scenic rainforests including Siuslaw National Forest and the Cascade network. During low tide at Neskowin State Beach an ancient Ghost Forest emerges from the Pacific Ocean and the wetlands are home to a multitude of bird and marine life. Small and quaint, the town is sleepy in off season and swells with tourists in summer. Located sixty miles west of Salem and ninety miles south of Portland, it’s some of the loveliest and best protected coastal regions in the state.
We love the spectacular Oregon coastline and this house’s strong linear lines and retractable walls of glass captures it’s stunning natural beauty to great effect. With soaring open interiors, sleek contemporary style and innovative indoor outdoor layout, the house is thoughtfully designed with stylish simplicity and the emphasis of nature in mind.
The Laconner Cabin is located near Deception Pass on the Swinomish Indian Reservation, one of the most stunning regions in the west coast, offering multiple areas for kayaking, bike riding, bird watching, hiking, beach and nature exploration. Nearby gallery hopping, boutique shopping and dining are available in the quaint town of LaConnor while the many local farms of neighboring Skagit Valley provide great fresh local foods.
