What are the Cancellation Policies and how do they set my Payout Timeline?
Cancellation policies are an important part of any booking system and it’s important that these policies are maintained and clearly posted.
To help simplify the cancellation process and ensure transparency with our guests, BoutiqueHomes has provided six standardized options for owners.
- They range from Strict to Flexible so it’s easy to find something that’ll fit your property's needs.
One option provides the host with two payout dates, one right after booking, and the second when the guest's final payment is submitted.
- Owners still have the option of adding an additional flat cancellation penalty.
Owner payouts from BoutiqueHomes are also set from these cancellation policies with each one reflecting when the host can expect their payout.
The beauty of this system is that once the host receives payment, they never have to worry about refunding and they always know when to expect their money.
- Payments are only sent once the guest has entered the non-refundable timeframe of their reservation.
- Without a standardized policy, there would be no easy way for hosts to figure out when they will receive their payment and we want to make things as easy as possible on our owners.
- Please note that in keeping with industry-standard, in the event of a cancellation, BoutiqueHomes 10% commission will still be applicable to the non-refundable portion of the booking.
Here are the Cancellation Policies:
Strict
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled within 24 hours of making the reservation.
- After that, the reservation is non-refundable.
- Payout to the host 7 days after payment is received.
Firm
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 60 days before the time of check-in.
- If the guest cancels 30-60 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund.
- If the guest cancels within 30 days of check-in, no refund will be given.
- Payout to the host 24 days before the guest's arrival date.
Moderate - This will be the system default
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 30 days before the time of check-in.
- If the guest cancels 14-30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund.
- If the guest cancels within 14 days of check-in, no refund will be given.
- Payout to the host 7 days before the guest's arrival date.
Relaxed
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 14 days before the time of check-in.
- If the guest cancels 7-14 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund.
- If the guest cancels within 7 days of check-in, no refund will be given.
- Payout to the host on guest arrival date.
Flexible
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 24 hours before the time of check-in.
- If the guest cancels within 24 hours of check-in, no refund will be given.
- Payout to the host 7 days after guest arrival date.
Strict50
- Guest receives a full refund if the booking is canceled within 24 hours of making the reservation. After that the 50% deposit payment is non-refundable. The final payment is due 60 days before arrival, and after that it is non-refundable.
- Payout to the host is 50% minus BH commission, 7 days after deposit is received, 50% balance payout (minus BH commission) 45 days prior to arrival date.
