Ideally situated in the Luberon’s Golden Triangle lies a beautifully restored property just outside Gordes, one of the prettiest villages in France. Various outbuildings dating back to 1629 surround a private, inner courtyard, providing different possibilities of operation including a large family home, bed & breakfast or gites rentals. This pretty hamlet and area of the Luberon are calm but not isolated, with a thriving international community.
Surrounded by the vineyards of the Côtes de Luberon, lies a small hamlet within the borough of Gordes, famous for being one of the most beautiful villages in France. Here in the ‘golden’ triangle of Gordes, Ménerbes and Bonnieux, the landscapes and light are amazing, and for centuries have attracted artists, who have attempted to capture its beauty on canvas.
The perfect spot to discover Provence, the house is located just outside the village away from the tourist center. Just half an hour drive from the Papal and festival town of Avignon and only minutes away from famous places like L’Isle sur la Sorgue, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Lacoste, Oppède-le-Vieux, Lourmarin, Saignon and Roussillon.
Situated in the center of the village, the property consists of several buildings hidden behind a high wall. One house dates back to 1629 and while its historic façade has been preserved, inside has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated to give the comforts associated with the 21st century.
La Maison 1629
To retreat from the warm summer sun, you can withdraw to the lovely sitting room. In winter, the fireplace begs the company of a book and a good glass of wine. The open kitchen has all the appliances to test your French cuisine. The house has an idyllic roof terrace with a spectacular view on the Montagnes de Luberon.
The two large bedrooms have their separate shower rooms with rain shower, wash basin and toilet, and in the garden there is a shaded area with a fixed barbecue.
La Maison 1850
This part of the property has been renovated most recently and offers a luxurious home for two people. An ideal retreat for those who enjoy comfort, there is a spacious library/sitting room, dining room with fireplace, kitchen with all amenities to enjoy a culinary adventure, one bedroom and bathroom with bath and walk in shower.
Via an outside entrance there is a second floor not yet renovated so it offers the possibility to include it with the ground floor and first floor, or make it into a third apartment.
The courtyard has a beautiful atmosphere and offers spots in the sun or the shade with a large and inviting covered area for long lasting lunches on sunny days. There is enough room to create a basin style pool.
Le Loft is located on the other side of the courtyard. It has been completely renovated with a new kitchen unit and cozy living and dining areas, and has its own large shower room with rain shower, wash basin and a toilet. There is also a private sun terrace with a six person hot-tub.
The property has proven to be ideal for rentals. For many years La Maison 1629 and Le Loft have provided a healthy return.
