Located in the Suffolk countryside within walking distance of the historic village of Eye, this remarkable estate was once the home to a group of Benedictine monks, who founded a priory here in the 11th century. Falling into ruin in 1537, the remains were eventually turned into farm buildings before a fashion stylist and her art director husband discovered the rundown property and restored it with a dramatic contemporary update.
Set within 10 acres of water meadows, near the Suffolk village of Eye, this beautiful designer-created estate is a unique and historic location for special events.
Composed of a cluster of buildings, the former farm structures have been repurposed and redesigned with a sharp contemporary makeover. The interiors are flooded with natural light and feature vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams and skylights, poured concrete and oak floors, original brickwork, and large windows that open onto landscaped gardens.
The large open-plan living area has a great mid-century feel, with vintage furniture, a wood-burning stove, large dining area and fully-equipped kitchen with catering services available for large and small events.
The house also has great eco sensibilities, using as many recycled materials as possible, ground source space and water heating as well as solar photovoltaics, earning it a rare A-grade EPC rating.
Fully staffed with customized catering and event services available, the property is equipped to accommodate on site events of up to one hundred guests and up to six overnight guests.
