Architectural luxury meets the wilderness on the very edge of Wilson’s Promontory National Park. Just Inside the Gate is situated just inside the National Park on 97 acres of the most southerly freehold land on mainland Australia. The well thought-out layout starts with the deck and leads to the entry that leads to the living space. The bedrooms (two in each wing, all with luxury bathrooms featuring solar heated water) enjoy rural, mountain, and inlet views. Modern Beach House on Bowen Island is modernism at its best. Custom built in 2012 by renowned Canadian architecture firm superkül inc and landscape architect Janet Rosenberg, the home is both contemporary and minimalist with an indoor-outdoor design that allows guests to connect with nature without forgoing everyday comforts.

The beach home sleeps up to 6 people comfortable in three bedrooms, each with queen sized bed. 2 bathrooms with European rain shower heads and an outdoor hot tub complete the experience. Nine foot high lift-and-slide wooden doors open up the interior to a deck that appears to float in the Douglas Fir canopy. A star filled horizon is revealed through glass walls in every room.

The home offers spectacular scenery all year round. In winter, guests can relax in the large living room by the two-sided wood burning fireplace. In summertime, there is a private beach at the base of the home that is totally secluded from neighboring views. The house has heated stone floors, 14-foot ceilings, and equipped with surround sound audio, cable, Wi-Fi, and top of the line appliances.

The island abounds with trails, rolling hills, and amazing scenery. Kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, trail riding, and biking are just a few of the activities available. For those who want a slower-paced adventure, there are also opportunities for whale watching, bald eagle viewing, sailing, crabbing, oyster harvesting, and even golfing. World class alpine-style skiing is just minutes away in Whistler via the Sea to Ski highway.

Bowen Island is a 20-minute ferry ride from Vancouver, but guests can also choose to arrive via their own boot; a private mooring is available right in front of the house. Cooking and butler services are available upon request.

Work out or chill out at Villa Lunada, a gorgeous compound located inside the prestigious La Punta Estates and less than one mile from the St. Regis Punta Mita Hotel. With 5,500 square feet of beautifully designed space, there’s plenty of room to roam. The main villa has a master bedroom, two guests rooms and a bonus room, which can be transformed into a media room, a teenager’s hangout, or a king suite. The master suite has an office, library, and living room with views of the Bay of Banderas from the huge soaking tub.

Common areas include a gourmet kitchen, dining ‘pod’ and open living room that leads out to the pool deck. The entire building is designed to maximize indoor/outdoor living. Villa Lunada sits right on top of El Faro, a high quality right point break reminiscent of Malibu, and is within walking distance of two other surf spots. The sweeping views from any part of the villa include the peninsula, the nearby Jack Nicklaus golf course, and the brilliant waters of the Pacific.   A stay at Villa Lunada includes use of Stand Up Paddle facilities and lessons at nearby Hotel CINCO, use of the Four Seasons golf course. Guests can reqest staff and a chef as needed. Also on offer are early morning yoga on the terrace with in-house yoga instructor.

Taut’s Home is an outstanding example of German town planning during the 1920s. The home has been fully restored and furnished in the style of the 1930s, emboding a passion for historic details and vintage interior design. The distinctive white building with clean, angular lines recalls Bahaus Modernism. The large front yard has been restored according to the original blueprint with a small terrace, fruit trees, lilac bushes, and hedge of wild roses.

The home has two bedrooms and can accomodate up to 4 people. Sleeping arrangements include two double beds, a fold out bed, and a crib. Furnishings and facilities have been selected according to style and authenticity. The kitchen has a dinign area and vintage working oven. Heating is provided by the most up-to-date facilities but match the original design. Three old-fashioned tiled heating stoves provide warmth in the winter. Visitors interested in the history of the home will find a small reference library.

Color was an important element of Taut’s Home and the owners have preserved the original colors, selected in cooperation with cultural heritage specialists. The main bedroom is painted blue and features a large double bed (160x220cm), writer’s desk and tree top views. The living area is the “green” room and features a large sofa, dining table, and reading nook. The “yellow” room can serve as a spare bedroom with a samller double bed (140x200cm) as well as an additional living area. Thanks to its clever lay-out, the two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and cellar fit into an economical 65 sqm of floor space.

Mi Casa is a simple yet elegant contemporary home with open views of the ocean and the Sierra Laguna mountains, overlooking chili fields. The 3-bedroom/2-bath house offers stunning vistas from the numerous windows.

The living room has a large comfortable couch and moroccan seating pillows, and a fireplace. A floor-to-ceiling bookshelf divides the living area from the wide open plan kitchen furnished with professional appliances.
